Economics as a Programme is mix of traditional economics courses and modern day analytical tools on data analysis. The complexity and diversity of our globalized world makes a liberal arts education more relevant than ever. The Economics Program designed to introduce students to the theoretical and analytical frameworks. The Program trains students to generate analysis and critical insights rooted in appropriate methodological approaches, through reflective reading and writing and interpretation of data pertaining to economic activities. These skills are imparted to students through experiential learning and field survey.
Students in the programme receive extensive research training, as they will do qualitative and quantitative research throughout their degree and complete an independent research project in their final year.
The bachelor's program in Economics provides practical exposure in terms of research and field practice. The weightage of these courses is more than 30%.
XII with minimum 50% marks in aggregate
For Migration from Other Universities:
1) B.A (Hons) Economics Ist yr. minimum 50% marks or 5.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale
2) 50% or above at XII level in Best Four relevant subjects
