Dr. Bhawani Shankar currently serves as an Associate Professor in the School of Media and Communication Studies at Galgotias University. He has over 10 years of experience in teaching, research & industry, and has been associated with the university in 2018. Prior to this, he worked as an Assistant Professor (Guest) at MCU and as an Assistant Editor at Chakmak magazine in Bhopal.

He has successfully supervised three Ph. D scholars in areas such as social media and political awareness, agenda-setting, representation of women, and OTT platforms, and is currently guiding two more doctoral candidates. He has presented over 20 research papers at national and international seminars and has published more than 35 research papers and book chapters in reputed journals. His teaching expertise includes courses such as Print Media, Reading and Writing Skills, Communication Research, Political Economy of Mass Media, and Media Law & Ethics.

Dr. Shankar serves on the editorial boards of the Asian Thinker Journal and the Media Scholar Journal. He has also contributed numerous opinion articles on current affairs to leading national newspapers and magazines. In addition to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, he has undertaken several academic and administrative roles, including Division Chair (Journalism), Examination Coordinator, and Ph.D. Coordinator.
