Mr. Akshat Mehta is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the School of Law at Galgotias University. He completed his Bachelors in Law (B.A. LL. B) from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), New Delhi, and went on to pursue his Masters in Law (LL.M) specializing in Intellectual Property Rights from Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur.
He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Intellectual Property Rights Law from HNLU, Raipur, with a broad research focus on Personality Rights. Before joining Galgotias University, he worked as an Assistant Professor of Law at MATS University, Raipur.
His teaching repertoire includes courses on Intellectual Property Rights Law, Air & Space Law, Constitutional Law and Feminist Jurisprudence. He has published several research articles in prestigious journals. His article titled ‘Bengaluru’s Water Crisis, Rapid Urbanization & the Law’ was published in Economic & Political Weekly (EPW), a Scopus Indexed Q2 Journal.
He has written extensively on Blockchain and Intellectual Property Rights, Compulsory Licensing in Patent Law in India & the United States, Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and IP, Interplay of Intellectual Property and eSports, India's IP Landscape & International IP Index, and Intellectual Property Rights, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change Mitigation.
His current research focuses on the intersection of intellectual property rights and emerging technologies, exploring how legal frameworks can adapt to advancements in fields such as artificial intelligence and biotechnology.
