Event Brief Description:
The Policraft Competition was organized by the Literary Society, School of Law at Galgotias University. It was designed as a creative and intellectually stimulating platform for students to engage in innovative policy making through a multi-state model. Participants were allotted states by draw of lots and were asked to identify pressing socio-legal and administrative issues while proposing effective solutions. The focus of the event was to develop policies that balance legal frameworks with ground-level realities, ensuring people’s participation and long-term sustainability.
The competition saw enthusiastic participation from around 60 students of Galgotias University, along with external participants from University of Delhi, IIT Delhi, and Amity University, making the event diverse and competitive. Students presented their ideas in the form of PowerPoint presentations, enabling them to combine research, creativity, and practical problem-solving.
The winners of the competition were Yashay Shri Singh and Shraddha Rajput from the University of Delhi, while the third place was secured by a student from Galgotias University. Policraft was successful in promoting critical thinking, legal innovation, and policy-level engagement, thereby creating a bridge between academic knowledge and real-world governance.
Event Detailed Description:
Policraft was conceptualized as a Multi-State Policy Making Competition, encouraging students to draft innovative solutions to governance and legal challenges across different Indian states. The event was conducted on 19th April 2025 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, organized by the Literary Society, School of Law.
The competition methodology involved allotting a state to each team through a lottery system. Students were tasked with identifying major legal and administrative issues concerning their respective states. They then formulated creative solutions in the form of a policy framework, supported by socio-legal research and practical governance measures. These were presented in PowerPoint format, making the event interactive and engaging.
The central aim of the event was to integrate law, administration, and people’s participation into a holistic policy approach that could be meaningful for future policy makers. The evaluation criteria focused on originality, feasibility, socio-legal integration, and clarity of presentation.
The event attracted 57 internal participants and 3 external participants, adding diversity and a competitive spirit. Representation from reputed institutions like University of Delhi, IIT Delhi, and Amity University elevated the academic value of the competition.

Policraft not only strengthened the academic environment but also inspired students to think as future leaders and policymakers. The event successfully bridged the gap between theoretical legal knowledge and practical application in the policy-making domain.
