Event brief description 

The School of Aviation Logistics & Tourism Management, Galgotias University, successfully conducted a 5-day hands-on training program titled "FlightSecure 2025 – Advanced Aviation Safety & Emergency Preparedness" for its students. The program was delivered in three batches:

  • Batch 1: 19th–23rd May 2025
  • Batch 2: 26th–30th May 2025
  • Batch 3: 2nd, 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th June 2025

Designed to enhance real-world operational readiness, the training covered five core areas: Emergency Procedures, First Aid, Aviation Security Awareness, Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR), and Safety Management Systems. Students engaged in practical exercises such as firefighting drills, ditching procedures, CPR training, and AVSEC threat response.

The program was conducted in collaboration with FlyWings Simulator Training Centre (FWSTC), Gurgaon. We extend our sincere appreciation to the expert trainers—Mr. Bipin Kumar Yadav, Ms. Rupal Mandavia, Ms. Nidhi Gakhar, Mr. Karzong Bhutia, and Mr. Nitin Aggarwal—for their exceptional support.

FlightSecure 2025 – Advanced Aviation Safety & Emergency Preparedness Training

Overview:

The School of Aviation Logistics & Tourism Management, Galgotias University, successfully conducted a comprehensive and hands-on 5-day training program titled “FlightSecure 2025 – Advanced Aviation Safety & Emergency Preparedness” for its aviation students. This pioneering initiative aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical academic instruction and the operational realities of the aviation sector.

The training was conducted in three structured batches to accommodate all students effectively:

  • Batch 1: 19th – 23rd May 2025
  • Batch 2: 26th – 30th May 2025
  • Batch 3: 2nd, 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th June 2025

Each batch experienced a structured program that emphasized real-world applications of aviation safety, security protocols, and emergency procedures.

Objectives:

The primary objective of this training was to enhance the safety awareness, emergency preparedness, and crisis response capabilities of future aviation professionals. By integrating theory with intensive practical exposure, the program enabled students to develop:

  • A deep understanding of safety procedures
  • Awareness of security challenges in aviation
  • The ability to respond confidently to emergencies

Core Learning Modules:

The curriculum was built around five key modules that are critical to aviation operations:

  1. Emergency Procedures & Evacuation Techniques
    • Safe evacuation protocols during emergency landings or water ditching
    • Use of life vests and survival kits
    • Demonstration of emergency exits and firefighting procedures
  2. First Aid Training
    • Handling medical emergencies onboard including cardiac arrest, choking, and fainting
    • Administering CPR, bandaging, and injury care
  3. Aviation Security Awareness (AVSEC)
    • Identifying threats such as suspicious baggage or bomb threats
    • LRBL procedures, access control, and passenger/cargo screening
  4. Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR)
    • Classification, labeling, packaging, and documentation of dangerous goods
    • Preventive handling procedures to mitigate risks
  5. Safety Management Systems (SMS)
    • Risk assessment and mitigation techniques
    • Reporting protocols and organizational safety culture

Practical Activities Conducted:

Students participated in simulation-based training including:

  • Firefighting drills with extinguishers
  • Aircraft mock-up evacuation exercises
  • Medical emergency simulations
  • Security response drills
  • Role-play for assisting Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRM)
