Financial Awareness Camp (05-04-2025)

The drive started with introducing the coordinators and the motive of the financial awarness camp. Each participants was provided with a basic stationer kit.
Around 150 students & 6 faculties from the Children’s Satyarthi Foundation were there in the drive.
The first educational session, focusing on Savings and Investments, was led by Vishal Kumar from the B.Com(Hons) program .The session effectively introduced the concept of saving money and its importance for future needs. Using age-appropriate examples and interactive methods, the facilitators explained different ways to save and provided a rudimentary understanding of how money can potentially grow through basic investment concepts.
The subsequent session on The Entrepreneurial Mindset, facilitated by Lakshay Soni from the B.com(Hons) program, aimed to spark creativity and introduce basic business concepts. Through engaging activities and relatable examples, the young participants were introduced to the idea of identifying needs and creating solutions, laying the foundation for an entrepreneurial way of thinking.
The camp continue with a crucial session on Navigating the Digital World, led by Granth Bansal from B.com(AFA). This session focused on the increasingly relevant topics of digital banking and fraud prevention. The facilitators explained the basics of online transactions in a simplified manner and emphasized the importance of online safety, protecting personal information, and being wary of potential online scams.
The session on Budgeting and Money Management, conducted by BBA(FIA) student, Price Raj provided practical insights into managing personal finances. The concept of creating a simple budget, tracking expenses, and making informed spending decisions was explained through relatable scenarios and interactive exercises.
Building upon this, the session on The Foundation of Financial Planning, facilitated by BIAF student, Dikshita who introduced the idea of setting financial goals, both short-term and long-term. The importance of planning for the future and making conscious financial decisions to achieve those goals was emphasized.
The Introduction to Financial Literacy session, led by Ankita Chaudhary BBA(FIA) student, aimed to build a foundational understanding of key financial terms and concepts. Through simple explanations and examples, the participants were introduced to terms like income, expenses, and the basic principles of making informed financial choices.
The final educational session focused on the Basics of Taxation, presented by Gaurav Solanki from BBA(FIA) student. This session provided a very basic introduction to the concept of taxes and their role in contributing to public services, explained in a manner suitable for young learners. The insurance importance and need by an individual and the knowledge of risk management is led by Ankia Bisht from B.com(Hons). At the end of the session Prakriti Mishra from B.com(Hons) concluded it with the knowledge of avoiding financial scars and fraud which is very much crucial in today’s time.
Following the educational sessions, an Interactive Q&A Session was held, providing a platform for the children to ask questions and clarify any doubts they had regarding the topics covered throughout the day. All the student facilitators actively engaged with the participants, addressing their queries in a clear and understandable manner.
The camp concluded with the distribution of the refreshment and group photographs. Appreciation was extended to the students of the Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation for their enthusiastic participation, to the foundation for hosting the event, and to the dedicated student organizers and facilitators from the School of Commerce for their successful execution of the Financial Awareness Camp.
The event successfully achieved its primary objective of introducing young minds to fundamental financial concepts and fostering a sense of financial responsibility.
