Chandrayaan Mahotsav Celebration

Institute’s Innovation Council & Student Council, Galgotias University has successfully celebrated the Chandrayan Mahotsav on 04 September 2023 from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM.

The Mahotsav was inaugurated with Saraswati Vandana and Lamp Lighting Ceremony. Hon’ble Chancellor Mr. Suneel Galgotia, CEO Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) K. Mallikharjuna Babu, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Avadhesh Kumar, Advisor to Chancellor Prof. Renu Luthra, Prof. Ranjana Patnaik, Dean SBMS, Prof, A. Ram Pandey Dean Media, Dr. Deepak Soni, Head DOCE was present at this occasion.

Hon’ble Chancellor Mr. Suneel Galgotia inaugurated the event and, in his speech, congratulated the Institute’s Innovation Council and the Student Council for organizing the Chandrayaan Mahatsov with great enthusiasm.

Hon’ble CEO Dr. Dhruv Galgotia appreciated the enthusiasm of the organizing committee and encouraged the students to wholeheartedly participate in the Chandrayaan Mahatsov. He also asked the students to inspect the 3D model of Chandrayaan recreated by Galgotias University to motivate them to explore space research.

Medhya Gupta & Anusha Chaudhary hosted the event and delivered the Preamble of the event and cherished India’s success. Dr. Gaurav Kumar, IIC Head and event Coordinator informed about the achievements of Galgotias University in the Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Hon’ble Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Avadhesh Kumar Addressed the gathering and encouraged the participants to take part in different activities including, storytelling competition, Poem/Song competition, Oral and Poster Presentation, & Dance performance. He also quoted the great Indian space Scientist Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam saying that “Dreams are not those which comes while we are sleeping, but dreams are those when you don't sleep before fulfilling them” and inspired the students to embark on a journey of self-exploration to make the nation proud.

Hon’ble Advisor to Chancellor, Prof. Renu Luthra motivated the students in her speech by saying that India has overcame all the barriers to become one of major global powers and that the students will be the future leaders and take India beyond the moon. She also emphasized that this is only the beginning where India has initiated her climb towards the zenith and many future milestones are yet to be celebrated in the future.

The Chief Guest of the event Dr. Arpit Chouksey, Scientist-SE, Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Indian Space Research Organisation, Govt. of India, addressed the gathering and congratulated the organizers of Galgotias University for celebrating the Chandrayaan Mahatsov in a grand manner. He also explained how remote sensing aids in space technology and information monitoring from the satellites. He also shared with the students the intricacies and the details of India’s Chandrayaan mission.

In his address, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) K. Mallikharjuna Babu mentioned that students are the major driving force of any nation and that students at Galgotias University will be provided every kind of support to realize their goals. He also emphasized that Galgotias University will work in the lines of vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi and will participate in building the future India and assured that the students will receive all the necessary mentoring and assistance from the University.

The speech of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor was followed by the screening of the soft-landing video of Chandrayaan-3 on lunar surface, which was met with huge applause from the audience. Students participated in several cultural programs such as dancing and singing, poem recitation, storytelling and presentations, selfie/reel/shorts competitions on the Chandrayaan mission. The event was concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Sumedha Mukherjee.
