About the Programme

Optometry is an autonomous health care profession which is responsible for performing primary eye care, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.

B.Optometry programme has excellent curriculum designed as per guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The program is offering great opportunities to national and international students in preparing skilled & competent professionals. Well qualified and experienced faculty members promote hands on training and evidence-based learning in basic and advance skills in Optometry. State-of-the-art Eye OPD and Optometry Lab provides top-notch facilities to the budding Optometrist. For clinical training and internship MOUs with renowned hospitals in Delhi/NCR and In Campus Eye OPD facility is available for hands on training. The students of Optometry programme undergo project-based learning to improve research skills.

Optometrists are the primary health care practitioners who specialise in Correction of focussing errors in visual system, Correction of visual alignment errors, Diagnosis & management of Eye Diseases and Rehabilitation care for visually impaired.

 

Optometry graduates have great opportunities to work as Clinical research scientist, Academician, Corporate managers and start independent eye clinic and retail shops in healthcare industries both in India and abroad

Eligibility

XIIth with PCM or PCB with 50% marks
The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years

For Lateral Entry:
Minimum 50% marks in Diploma in Optometry / Ophthalmic technician from Recognized institute

For Migration from Other Universities:
1) Minimum 50% in Optometry Ist year
2) XIIth with PCM or PCB with 50% marks

Students having CUET Score will be given preference in merit.

Clinical Care in Optometry Apply core and basic knowledge associated with the profession using a patient/family-centered approach and best evidence to organize and implement the preventive, investigative and management plans and will offer appropriate follow-up services in Optometry.
