5 Years (4 Years + 1 Year Internship)Optometry is an autonomous health care profession which is responsible for performing primary eye care, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
Optometrists are the primary health care practitioners who specialise in Correction of focussing errors in visual system, Correction of visual alignment errors, Diagnosis & management of Eye Diseases and Rehabilitation care for visually impaired.
B. Optometry programme has excellent curriculum designed as per guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The program is offering great opportunities to national and international students in getting Knowledge, skilled & competentance in order to become an Optometry professional. Well qualified and experienced faculty members promote understanding and competence by lecture with interaction, hands on training and evidence-based learning in basic and recent advancements in Optometry. State-of-the-art Eye OPD and Optometry Lab provides hands on training on top-notch facilities to the budding Optometrist. For Clinical training and internship we have MOUs with renowned hospitals in Delhi/NCR. . The students of Optometry programme undergo project-based learning to improve research skills.
Optometry graduates have great opportunities to work as an Optometrist, Clinical research scientist, Academician, Corporate managers in healthcare industries and start independent eye clinic and retail shops both in India and abroad.

XII with minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB).
The minimum age should be 17 years as on December 31st of each Admission Year.

Do clinical Care in Optometry Practice: Apply core and basic knowledge associated with the profession using a patient/family-centered approach and best evidence to organize and implement the preventive, investigative and management plans and will offer appropriate follow-up services in Optometry.

Do effective communication in Optometry practice: Develop an effective communication with patients, care-givers, other health professionals, members of community and prepare investigation reports, assessment- treatment plans to give and receive clear instructions appropriately in Eye care practice

Do work in multidisciplinary health care team: Distinguish and communicate within the team, including transparency about aims, decisions, uncertainty and mistakes to work collaboratively and accomplish shared goals within and across settings to achieve coordinated, high-quality Eye care services

Have good ethics and social accountability: Apply ethical principles and commit to core concepts of clinical ethics and law to practice as healthcare service providers in Optometry.

Have commitment to professional excellence in Optometry: Develop and execute professionalism to reflect in thought and action including technical competence, appearance, image, confidence level, empathy, compassion, understanding, patience, manners, verbal and non-verbal communication, an anti- discriminatory and non-judgmental attitude, and appropriate physical contact to ensure safe, effective and expected delivery of healthcare in Optometry.
