About the Programme

The B.Des in Product Design specialization focuses on creating innovative, functional, and meaningful physical and digital products that enhance everyday life. It equips students with the ability to understand user needs, explore ideas, and develop well-crafted solutions through design thinking, technology, and hands-on making.

Engrained in human-centered design, the program blends creativity with technical knowledge. Students gain expertise in form development, ergonomics, materials and manufacturing, product aesthetics, sustainability, and user experience, while also learning how to prototype and test ideas using physical and digital tools.

The curriculum encourages critical inquiry, responsible innovation, and contextual awareness. From household products to consumer electronics and mobility solutions, students work on diverse challenges that prepare them for real-world applications.

What Students Will Learn:

  • Design thinking and innovation strategy
  • Human-centered and systems design
  • Aesthetics, form, and ergonomics
  • Materials, processes, and sustainability
  • Prototyping (manual and digital fabrication)
  • CAD modeling and simulation tools
  • UX/UI principles for physical-digital integration
  • Research methods and design validation
