About the Programme

B.Tech. in Biotechnology prepares engineers for fulfilling and dynamic careers in biotechnology industry, research, and allied professions. In the fields of medicine and pharmaceuticals, biotechnology is best known for its increasingly important role. It is also used in areas such as genomics, food production, and biofuel production. Currently, this course is in high demand in the Indian education scenario, with 157 AICTE approved colleges and universities in India offering the course. In Uttar Pradesh, 34 colleges are currently offering the course with a strength of 2096 students. For the course of B.Tech Biotechnology, an extensive integrated programme core and elective courses with laboratory research, training in current industry practices, and the soft skills necessary to excel in business, will be implemented to prepare the graduate students to address and lead the advances in research and development, allied biomedical research, healthcare, industrial biotechnology and more. The course will prepare students for an array of careers in Hospital and Healthcare Sector, R&D Sector, Biomedical Startups, Pharmaceutical Companies, PSUs, Sales and technical support, Biotech Companies, Clinical Research, Software Engineering, Medical Devices Companies and Bio-entrepreneurship.

Eligibility

Minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics/Biology/Biotechnology in Class XIIth.

Students with a CUET / SAT (DI Code - 71057 ) score will be given preference in the merit list


For Lateral Entry:
Passed Diploma examination with at least 50% marks in any branch of Engineering and Technology.
Or
Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University with at least 50% marks and passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics / Biology / Biotechnology as a subject. Or
Passed B.Voc/3-year D.Voc. Stream in the same or allied sector.


For Migration from Other Universities:
1) B.E./B.Tech Ist year minimum 50% marks or equivalent
2) 50% PCM/PCB or above at XII level
