About the programme

Ph.D. Agriculture is a three year doctorate programme. The programme covers specialized courses in agronomy, plant pathology, entomology, soil science, genetics, horticulture and others. The programme aims at providing research knowledge about developing manageable and sustainable agricultural production strategies.

Eligibility

A Master's degree in Agriculture to the satisfaction of the Academic Council of the University, , with not less than 55% marks in aggregate or 6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale or equivalent. A candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s Degree with Research in Agricultural Sciences should have a minimum CGPA of 7.5/10.


Note: Candidates who have qualified in UGC NET/CSIR (JRF) Examination/SLET/GATE/Teacher Fellowship holder or have passed M.Phil. Programmes are exempted from Written Examinations.
