Ms. Archana Deka

Assistant professor

Ms. Archana Deka is currently working as an Assistant Professor in School of Liberal Education, Department of English. Having qualified the National Eligibility test (NET) in English and Folk Literature with a three-year long experience in teaching as an Assistant Professor of English, she is committed to bring a blend of knowledge and enthusiasm to the classroom, fostering dynamic discussions and nurturing a culture of critical thinking. She is focused on constant professional growth aiming to leverage her skills and passion for education to contribute effectively to the field. Ms. Archana has an M.A. and an M.Phil degree from the Centre for English Studies, JNU and is currently pursuing her PhD from the same institute. Apart from teaching and research, she takes keen interest in Literary Translation and Creative writing and has a certificate in Creative Writing Module - I from British Council, India complemented by participation in diverse workshops and conferences concerning the fields. Apart from her literary pursuits, Ms. Archana loves to travel and and try her hands in photography.

  • She is pursuing her PhD on the topic “Reading/Writing the Folk: Exploring Violence, Language and Identities in Lakshminath Bezbaroa’s Folktales”.
  • She has presented several Research papers in various National and International conferences.
  • She has published in the field of Academic Research as well as Creative Writing.
