Dr. Mohammad Akhtar

Professor

Dr. Mohammad Akhtar is Professor of Logistics and Supply Chain Management with over 38 years of experience including teaching, consulting and industry. He has 7-1/2 years of experience teaching logistics, supply chain and operations management. Experience also includes 3 years of management consulting abroad with a multi-national company, and 28 years in different roles with ONGC Ltd, highly valued corporation of India. He has also taught at University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun. As a guest faculty, he has taught at Amity Business School, Noida, Al Falah Business School, Faridabad and Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University. He is associated with Galgotias University since July 2019. He is passionate in teaching and overall development of the students with analytical and problem-solving skills. He integrates logistics and supply chain management practices, case- based teaching, and student centric learning to improve learning outcome of the students. He has held the position of division chair, logistics and supply chain, member of school research committee and chair of Doctoral advisory committee, School of Business. His research area spans sustainable sourcing, sustainable logistics, warehousing and supply chain risk management, supply chain flexibility, agility and resilience, digitalization and Industry 4.0 application in supply chain.

  • PhD. in Management from GGSIP University, New Delhi.
  • M. Tech. in Industrial Engineering & Management from IIT(ISM), Dhanbad.
