Dr. Yogendra Kumar Awasthi is currently serving as Professor (Research) at Galgotias University, Greater Noida, and Uttar Pradesh. He holds a Ph.D. in Microwave and Millimeter-Wave Technology from the University of Delhi, New Delhi, and brings with him more than 24 years of experience in academic and research administration.
Dr. Awasthi is a prolific researcher with over 100 publications in reputed peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. He has also been granted and published 15 Indian patents, and is currently authoring two technical books. His ongoing research interests include high-frequency passive/active microwave component modeling, quantum microwave systems, microwave antennas, Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS), metamaterial absorbers, non-invasive sensors, picosecond transient pulse analysis, and RF power transfer and energy harvesting technologies. Dr. Awasthi has successfully supervised six Ph.D. scholars, and has led and participated in multiple research projects funded by premier national agencies such as DST and ISRO, as well as international industry collaborators including Valeo-Innovation. His career spans significant engagements with premier institutions such as Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University (Agra), University of Delhi, CSIR–CEERI Pilani, Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS), and SGT University.
He serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the MR International Journal of Engineering and Technology and actively contributes as a reviewer for several high-impact journals including IEEE Antennas and Propagation Magazine, IEEE Access, IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, IET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation, and IET Electronics Letters. A frequent consultant for curriculum development, academic planning, and microwave/mmWave component design, Dr. Awasthi has contributed extensively to the advancement of outcome-based research frameworks and regulatory compliance in higher education. He is an active member of various professional bodies including IEEE, IEEE MTT-S, and the Antennas and Microwave Society of India.
He has been the recipient of the Best Researcher Awards for the years 2018 and 2019, and has organized and participated in numerous national and international conferences in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Dr. Awasthi continues to dedicate himself to promoting quality research, innovation, and academic excellence in India’s higher education sector. He has delivered numerous invited talks, chaired sessions in international conferences, and conducted hands-on workshops and training programs on advanced RF/microwave systems, antenna design, and computational EM tools like HFSS, CST Microwave Studio, and ADS. His efforts have significantly advanced research capacity-building, patent awareness, and academic-industry collaborations in the field of electronics and communication engineering.
