Prof. Vinita Vishwakarma is presently working as Additional Dean of Research at Galgotias University and affiliated with the School of Bioscience and Technology. She received her Ph.D. in Botany (Cytogenetics) from Ranchi University (Ranchi) in 2002. Her research expertise is in biofouling, bioremediation, bioimplants, biomaterials, surface modification of metallic substrates, thin film coatings, concrete modification by different types of pozzolans, admixture, nanoparticles, etc. She has guided 8 Ph.D. research scholars and 30 M.Tech. students. She has published more than 80 research articles in peer-reviewed journals, 65 conference papers, 2 books, 7 book chapters, and 3 patents. She has also edited several proceedings books and reviewed more than 60 journal papers. She completed 13 sponsored research projects from various funding agencies of the Government of India, such as the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), the Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences (BRNS), the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), the Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC, MHRD), the Department of Science and Technology (DST) (STI HUB), etc. She is the reviewer for more than 60 journals. She is a member of many professional bodies, such as the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM), the Kalpakkam Chapter, the Indian Women Scientist Association (IWSA), the Kalpakkam Chapter, and the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD). She received the Senior Scientist award from the Environment and Social Development Association (ESDA), Delhi, in 2023 and was recognized as a top 2% scientist by Stanford University for three consecutive years from 2022, 2023, and 2024.
