Dr. Saket Sharma is a seasoned legal scholar with over a decade of expertise in academia, policy research, and designing professional courses. His research and teaching interests are centred on the intersection of law and technology, particularly in the areas of Competition Law, Digital Personal Data & Privacy, Intellectual Property, and Tech Policy Regulation.
A distinguished alumnus of the University of Delhi, he holds a Doctorate in Law and a Master's in Law (LLM) from DU. His academic achievements are underscored by his status as a topper and Gold Medalist in Master's of Law (LLM). He also holds a Master's degree in Public Administration.
He has designed and has been a Coordinator and Director for various management development programmes including procurement training for Department of Personnel and Training for All India Services (IAS/IPS/IFoS), Advanced Training Programme on role of Economics in Competition for IES officers supported by Department of Expenditure GoI, and ITEC programme on Competition Policy and Law for officials of competition authorities of African Countries supported by Ministry of External Affairs, GoI.
He has contributed to various research projects supported by esteemed organisations including World Bank, ICSSR and Ministry of Corporate Affairs, GoI. He has been instrumental in developing online courses in the area of intellectual property licensing and competition law for reputed organisations including courses for IGNOU, UGC E-Pathshala and Swayam platforms.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Sharma has contributed significantly to the academic and policy landscape through his affiliations with the School of Law, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun, and as a Senior Fellow at CUTS Institute for Regulation and Competition. He is a prolific writer and commentator, regularly sharing his insights on legal and technological developments through various journals and publications.
