Dr. Priyanka Jain is a Sociologist with 7 years of teaching/research experience and 8 years of experience in NGOs/Corporates. She is a gold medallist in Sociology from Jamia Milia Islamia and BA (Hons.) from Lady Sri Ram College (LSR), Delhi University. Pursued Ph.D. from prestigious Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) Jaipur on “Impact of Transnational Migration on Identities of Chakmas in Northeast India and Consequential Shifts in India’s Foreign Policy.” For the same, she has conducted extensive ethnographic fieldwork on Chakma tribes in geographically isolated terrains of Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya, and Arunachal.
Currently, working as Assistant Professor (Sociology) and leader of 2 Research Groups: Diaspora & Migration Studies and Sociolinguistics at Galgotias University. Have been teaching Sociology/Social Work/Research Methodology courses to students of Liberal Education, Nursing, Journalism, Physiotherapy, BCA, Management, Basic Sciences, Life Sciences, Forensic Sciences in Higher Education Institutes and served in academic and administrative capacities. She has been External Expert in BOS Committee for Tribal Studies in Aadiwasi Study Centre, Jai Narain Vyas University, Rajasthan, India. She is also member of Editorial Committee of NGO Pravasi Setu Foundation and reviewer of Scopus-indexed journal.
