Dr. Anupam Prakash

Associate Professor

Dr Anupam Prakash is currently working as an Associate Professor in the School of Biosciences and Technology. He joined Galgotias University in August 2018; after completing his M.Sc. in Biotechnology, he has done Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology. He has more than 14 years of experience in research, industry, and academics. His research areas are population genetics, in-vitro antifungal susceptibility, and molecular mechanism of multi-drug resistance of pathogenic fungi. During his doctoral thesis, he discovered two new yeast-like fungi Saitozyma cassiae, a new species and a variation of Trichosporon monilliforme that resembled Cryptococcus neofomans phenotypically and microscopically. He served as an Application Support Executive and Research Associate in Bruker Daltonics Pvt Ltd and Cooper Pharma Ltd, respectively. 

He has served as event, LMS and MOOC coordinator. Currently, he serves as NAAC Criteria 6 school coordinator, mentor-mentee, and QBMS coordinator of the Department of Life Sciences. He is a fervent supporter of productive and efficient work environments. He made a continual effort to promote the students' overall growth. He has convened/organized more than 14 Co-curricular/Extracurricular events for the benefit of students in the past 6 years. He is the Supervisor of 4 PhD students registered at Galgotias University. He published 23 research papers and 6 book chapters in peer-reviewed journals. He is awarded as Top 10 (top 1%) of the Researcher in Galgotias University based on Scopus Citation, h-index and i10 index, Galgotias University.
