Mechanics of Material Lab
- Universal Testing Machine
Universal Testing Machine is used to test the tensile and compressive properties of material.it can perform all the tests right from compression, bending to tension and examine the material in all mechanical properties. For example, tension test ends of a test piece are fixed into grips connected to astraining device and to a load measuring device. The test involves straining a test piece by tensile force generally to fracture for thepurpose of determining one or more of the mechanical properties.
- Hardness Testing Machine
This machine is designed for measuring hardness of metals & alloys of all kinds, hard or soft, whether round, flat or irregular in shapes
Fluid Mechanics Lab
- Bernoulli’s Theorem apparatus
Bernoulli’s Theorem apparatus is mainly composed of a circular section conduit with shape of at truncated cone, transparent and with seven pressure taps to measure, simultaneously, the static pressure of each section. All the pressure taps are connected to a manometer with a water collector (water might be pressurized). The ends of the conduits are removable, enabling to be placed in either convergent or divergent form with respect to the stream direction. There is also a probe (Pitot’s tube) moving along the conduit or measuring the height in every section (dynamic pressure). Adjusting the control valve located at the end of the module can modify the flow rate and the pressure in the module. A flexible hose attached to the outlet pipe is directed to the volumetric measuring tank. For the operation, the module is placed on the Hydraulics bench top It has adjustable legs for leveling. The inlet pipe ends in a female coupling, which may be directly connected to the bench supply.

Energy Conversion Lab
- Vapor Compression Refrigeration Test Rig, Energy Equation Solver (EES)
The vapor compression refrigeration is designed to analyze performance of Vapor Compression Refrigeration Cycle. It consistof a hermetically sealed compressor, air cooled condenser, expansion device & coiled evaporator. The evaporator coil is immersed in a water tank fitted with electric heater. The heater load is controlled by a dimmer. CFC Free refrigerant R134a is used in the trainer. In vapor compression refrigeration system a refrigerant flows through the refrigeration circuit and is subject to different changes of state. Here, the physical effect is used that during the transition of the refrigerant from a liquid to a gaseous state energy is required which is removed fromthe environment
The measuring instruments are provided to measure Temperature & pressure of refrigerant cycle, Refrigerant Flow, Power Supplied to compressor & Heater Load
Metrology Lab
- Optical Profile Projector
Profile projector is widely used for complex shape stampings, gears, cams, threads and comparing the measured contour model. It’s easy to use and highly efficient. It is a commonly used measurement of optical instruments.
Thus, profile projector is widely used in major machinery manufacturing including aviation, aerospace industry, watches and clocks, electronics, instrumentation industry, research institutes and detection metering stations at all levels and etc.The projector magnifies the profile of the specimen, and displays this on the built-in projection screen.
Material Science Lab
- Metallurgical Microscope
Up–right Metallurgical Microscopes used for routine examination and analysis of the structures of different metals and alloys in Industries & Educational Institutes. All optical system has been designed with great care to guarantee full – contrast images, completely free from glare. Comprehensive anti – fungus treatments are applied to every area, which affects the clarity of the observation images
- Muffle Furnace
Muffle Furnace is box type heat treatment equipment used to change physical properties of samples at very high temperature; for example 1100°C, 1200°C, 1300°C and more. These laboratory furnaces are widely used in scientific experiments in physics lab, rice laboratories, steel and paint industries, biotech companies and small industrial production etc. Their major applications include general laboratory testing, annealing, ash determination, coal analysis, leaves carbonization and lime calcination etc.
Additive Manufacturing Lab
- 3D Printer
3D printing is an additive process whereby layers of material are built up to create a 3D part. This is the opposite of subtractive manufacturing processes, where a final design is cut from a larger block of material. As a result, 3D printing creates less material wastage.
CAD/CAM & CNC Lab
- Solid Works,
SolidWorks is computer-aided design (CAD) software. It uses the principle of parametric design and generates three kinds of interconnected files: the part, the assembly, and the drawing. Therefore, any modification to one of these three fileswill be reflected in the other two.
SolidWorks software enables to design very precise 3D objects, develop products, double-check your file's design maintain a library of your 3D files, create 2D drawings, create images and animations of your 3D objects, estimate the manufacturing cost of your 3D objects.
- CNC Simulator
A software simulator of a numerical control (CNC) lathe is an educational methodological development intended for basic familiarization of novice machine building specialists with the principles of programming parts turning operations using standard GM-code.

- CO2 Laser
CO2 laser engravers are highly precise instruments used to inscribe, decorate, or make custom logos on acrylic, wood, paper, metals, plastics, and an array of other materials. ... These high-power machines etch patterns into glass or cut wood into highly precise shapes. The cutting head has a nozzle in it which channels the beam onto the working piece. The focused laser beam melts the metal. CO2laser principle. During the cutting process, gas is emitted. When cutting mild steel, pure oxygen is released to start a burning process
- Machine, CNC Router
A computer numerical control (CNC) router is a computer-controlled cutting machine which typically mounts a hand-held router as a spindle which is used for cutting various materials, such as wood, composites, aluminium, steel, plastics, glass, and foams. ... They can also cut joinery such as mortises and tenons.
Digital Drawing Lab
- Auto CAD,
AutoCAD is a commercial computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting software application.Architects and Drafters use AutoCAD to design blueprints for building, bridges, and roads.AutoCAD software offers a professional look, It has flexibility in design changes, It has auto specification check feature, It has reduced design timescale, It offers easy reuse of the designs, The costly mistakes in the design or the production can be avoided, and you can modify the existing ideas that save the time.
- TinkerCad
Tinker cad is a free-of-charge, online 3D modeling program that runs in a web browser.Tinkercad uses a simplified constructive solid geometry method of constructing models. A design is made up of primitive shapes that are either "solid" or "hole". Combining solids and holes together, new shapes can be created, which in turn can be assigned the property of solid or hole.In addition to the standard library of primitive shapes, a user can create custom shape generators using a built-in JavaScript editor.
Shapes can be imported in three formats: STL and OBJ for 3D, and 2-dimensional SVG shapes for extruding into 3D shapes. Tinkercad exports models in STL or OBJ formats, ready for 3D printing.
