The School of Agriculture, Galgotias University, was privileged to welcome Dr. U.S. Teotia, Chief Agricultural Scientist at Indian Potash Limited (IPL), as the distinguished resource person for a special expert talk organized for our students and faculty. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, faculty members, and industry guests, reflecting the importance of such industry-academia collaborations.
The session began with a warm welcome and felicitation of Dr. Teotia by the Associate Dean of the School of Agriculture. In his keynote address, Dr. Teotia shared his deep insights into the emerging trends in the fertilizer industry, emphasizing the transition towards balanced and integrated nutrient management practices. He discussed the role of fertilizers in achieving sustainable agricultural productivity, highlighting innovations such as nano fertilizers, bio-stimulants, and customized fertilization solutions that are being adopted across India and globally.

Dr. Teotia also elaborated on the importance of soil health, nutrient efficiency, and environmental safety, aligning his talk with the Government of India’s mission for doubling farmers’ income and promoting sustainable practices. He encouraged students to explore the multifaceted career paths within the fertilizer industry—ranging from research and development, agribusiness, policy making, marketing, to field extension and consultancy services.
The interactive segment of the session allowed students to engage directly with Dr. Teotia, who patiently addressed their queries on career prospects, technological advancements, and future challenges in the fertilizer and agriculture sector.
