The Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (CADR), in collaboration with the MoU & Collaboration Committee, School of Law, Galgotias University, successfully hosted a special lecture followed by the signing of an MoU with the Institutional and Industrial Dispute Resolution Centre (IIDRC). The event featured Mr. Fahimuddin Ahmed Khan, Chief Legal Officer, IIDRC, as the guest speaker, accompanied by Mr. Hamid Baig, CEO, and Ms. Somayya Ali, COO, IIDRC.
Mr. Khan delivered an engaging session on “Institutional vs. Ad Hoc Arbitration: A Student’s Guide to Understanding the Difference,” offering students insightful comparisons between arbitration models, along with practical perspectives on their relevance in today’s dispute-resolution landscape. The session enhanced students’ understanding of arbitration frameworks and encouraged interactive learning.
The event was organized with the valued support of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) K. Mallikharjuna Babu, whose vision continues to strengthen academic–industry linkages. The Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (CADR), in collaboration with the MoU & Collaboration Committee, School of Law, Galgotias University, successfully organized a special lecture and MoU signing ceremony on campus. The event marked a significant step forward in strengthening academic-industry partnerships in the field of dispute resolution.
The session commenced with a warm welcome to Mr. Fahimuddin Ahmed Khan, Chief Legal Officer, Institutional and Industrial Dispute Resolution Centre (IIDRC), who was invited as the guest speaker for the day. He was accompanied by Mr. Hamid Baig, Chief Executive Officer, and Ms. Somayya Ali, Chief Operating Officer, IIDRC, whose presence further enriched the collaborative spirit of the occasion.
Mr. Khan delivered an insightful and engaging lecture on the topic “Institutional vs. Ad Hoc Arbitration: A Student’s Guide to Understanding the Difference.” The session provided students with a comprehensive overview of the two dominant arbitration models, highlighting their respective features, administrative frameworks, advantages, and limitations.
