As part of the Yoga Week celebration, Galgotias University organized a deeply enriching session on Sahaja Yoga on 14th June 2025 at the New Auditorium. The event was facilitated by renowned meditation experts Mr. Gaurav Srivastava, Mr. Amit Sharma, and Mr. Pankaj Chopra from the Sahaja Yoga Foundation. The session aimed to promote awareness about
yoga, meditation, and mindfulness, aligning with the global celebration of International Yoga Day.
The audience included enthusiastic participation from BCA, MCA students, and faculty members, all eager to explore practical methods of achieving mental calmness, emotional balance, and inner clarity through meditation. The session began with a warm introduction to the philosophy of Sahaja Yoga, emphasizing the natural and effortless awakening of inner energy, known as Kundalini, to achieve a state of thoughtless awareness.
The experts guided attendees through simple breathing exercises, meditation techniques, and explained how Sahaja Yoga can be practiced daily to maintain emotional and mental well-being. The importance of being present in the moment—mindfulness—was stressed as a key to overcoming stress, anxiety, and distractions in today’s fast-paced life. What made the session truly impactful was its interactive nature. A Q&A session followed the guided meditation, during which students and faculty actively engaged with the experts. Participants posed questions about stress management, developing concentration, overcoming anxiety, and incorporating meditation into their daily routines. The facilitators answered with practical insights and real-life examples, making the session not only theoretical but highly relatable.
Due to the high level of interest and limited time, not all questions could be addressed during the session. However, students were encouraged to stay connected with the Sahaja Yoga Foundation for continued guidance and follow-up workshops. The experts also shared resources and links for those who wanted to pursue deeper learning and regular practice.
The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. Many students mentioned that their doubts were cleared and that they experienced a deep sense of peace for the first time through meditation. Faculty members, too, expressed appreciation and sought advice on how they could help students build mental strength alongside academic excellence.
The Sahaja Yoga session successfully fulfilled its goal of celebrating Yoga Day with meaning and depth. More than just an event, it was a journey inward, promoting holistic well being and emotional balance. The university’s initiative to host such sessions reflects its commitment to not only academic success but also to the mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness of its students and faculty.
