Online Guest Lecture on Respiratory Muscle Training in Rehabilitation of Low Back Pain

A Online Guest lecture was organised by School of Allied Health Sciences on the Topic “Respiratory Muscle Training in Rehabilitation of Low Back Pain” under the guidance of Prof.(Dr.) Shagun Agarwal was conducted on 16/01/2025 via Zoom Platform from 12 noon onwards. It delivered by the expert Speaker Dr. Leila Ahmadnezhad Shahid Rajaee Teacher Training University, Iran

The lecture focused on the role of respiratory muscle training (RMT) in managing and rehabilitating low back pain (LBP). The speaker highlighted the biomechanical and physiological connections between respiratory function and spinal stability, emphasizing how weakened respiratory muscles can contribute to postural imbalances and chronic pain. 

Dr.  Leila Ahmadnezhad

Dr. Leila Ahmadnezhad holds a Ph.D. in Sports Injury and is currently an Assistant Professor at Shahid Rajaee Teacher Training University in Tehran. Her primary expertise lies in the rehabilitation of children with intellectual disabilities and individuals with lower back pain. She has published numerous national and international articles in the field of sports rehabilitation. Additionally, she spent two years as a member of a research team at the University of Valencia, Spain. Leila has also been invited as a keynote speaker at several national and international conferences. This session was aimed to understand the role of breathing in sports and explore exercise to strengthen respiratory muscle for enhance performance.
