The introductory event of the Moot Court Society, conducted by School of Law, Galgotias University was an overview of its objectives, emphasizing the role it plays in honing legal skills such as advocacy, research, and drafting for law students. The session proceeded with the introduction of various committees integral to the smooth functioning of the society. The Workshop and Planning Committee was tasked with organizing training sessions and workshops to enhance members’ mooting skills, while the Volunteers and Technical Committee would manage volunteers and handle the technical aspects of events, including virtual platforms and presentations. The Hospitality and Logistics Committee was introduced as responsible for ensuring smooth operations during events, handling guest coordination, and managing logistics. Additionally, the PR and Research Committee would focus on promoting society events, conducting outreach, and supporting research efforts. Together, these committees would collaborate to ensure the successful execution of moot court activities and events.

OPENING SPEECH-: MR. RAJAT DIXIT, FACULTYCONVENOR, MCS)

The Faculty Convenor, Mr. Rajat Dixit of the Moot Court Society, Galgotias University emphasized the importance of mooting in law school, noting how it prepares students for their legal careers by enhancing skills in drafting, pleading, and advocacy. He encouraged active participation in moot competitions to build confidence and legal expertise. He assured access to research databases and support from both faculty and senior students, highlighting that mooting is crucial for developing professionalism and essential legal skills.

PRESIDENT- MR. PRAKHAR PRAJAPATI

The President of the Moot Court Society delivered a brief speech introducing the society and its mission to enhance legal skills among students. He outlined the various committees within the society, including those focused on workshops and planning, volunteer and technical support, hospitality and logistics, and research and public relations, emphasizing their roles in facilitating a dynamic and engaging mooting experience for all members.

INTRODUCTION OF DIFFENT COMMITTEES VOLUNTEER AND TECHNICAL TEAM

The Head of the Volunteer and Technical Team, Mr. Ojas Saxena introduced the committee as responsible for managing event volunteers and overseeing technical aspects, including handling virtual platforms, presentations, and ensuring smooth technical operations during moot court events.

WORKSHOP AND PLANNING TEAM

The Head of the Workshop and Planning Committee, Ms. Akshara introduced the team as responsible for organizing training sessions, workshops, and preparatory activities aimed at enhancing members' mooting, research, and drafting skills, ensuring they are well-prepared for competitions.

HOSPITALITY AND LOGISTICS TEAM

The Head of the Hospitality and Logistics Committee, Ms. Smriti Raj introduced the team as responsible for managing event logistics, coordinating guest arrangements, and ensuring the smooth execution of moot court events through efficient planning and support.

RESEARCH AND PUBLIC RELATIONS

The Sub-Head of the Research and PR Committee, Mr. Harsh introduced the team as responsible for conducting legal research to support moot court activities, promoting events, and handling public relations to enhance the society's visibility and engagement.

FACULTY MEMBER-: MS. SHREYA BAJPAI

The faculty member of the Moot Court Society stressed the importance of focusing on every detail when working on a moot problem, as even small aspects can be crucial. She emphasized that law is constantly evolving, encouraging students to develop a flexible mindset to adapt to these changes and succeed in both moot court competitions and real-world legal challenges.

VICE-PRESIDENT-: MR. AMIT MISHRA

The Vice President of the Moot Court Society emphasized the importance of cultivating a strong mooting culture. He highlighted that mooting enhances legal skills and fosters collaboration and confidence among members. By encouraging regular practice, peer support, and participation in competitions, the society can create an environment that nurtures a thriving mooting community, preparing students for

their future legal careers.

DEAN, SCHOOL OF LAW-: DR. ADITYA TOMER

The Dean of the School of Law, Dr. Aditya Tomer delivered a motivating speech emphasizing the need to sharpen communication skills for success in the legal profession. He highlighted that having the courage to express ideas confidently is essential, along with the development of strong logical and analytical skills. Additionally, he underscored the importance of technical skills in navigating modern legal practices, urging students to embrace continuous learning to thrive in their future careers.

CLOSING REMARKS-: MR. RAJAT DIXIT

In the closing remarks, it was announced that every Friday would be designated as “Mooting Day”, dedicated to discussions on moot problems and arguments to enhance members skills. The introduction of upcoming competitions, including an ADR competition and a trial advocacy competition, was also highlighted. Additionally, there was an emphasis on the flagship event, the Smt. Shakuntala Devi International Moot Court Competition, organized by the Moot Court Society at the School of Law, Galgotias University, which aims to provide a platform for students to showcase their advocacy skills on an international stage
