By the end of the workshop, students will gain valuable technical skills, improved software proficiency, and a deeper understanding of CAD-based problem-solving—ultimately preparing them for industry demands and advanced engineering projects.
Event Detailed Description
The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Galgotias Polytechnic, is conducting a specialized Hands-on Session on AutoLISP and BricsCAD exclusively for Diploma in Mechanical Engineering students. The workshop is scheduled for Thursday, 20 November 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Room B-011, Galgotias University campus. This technical session aims to enhance students’ design automation capabilities and expose them to advanced CAD tools used widely in the mechanical and manufacturing industries.
AutoLISP is a powerful scripting language integrated with CAD platforms, enabling engineers to automate repetitive drafting tasks, customize commands, and create efficient workflows. BricsCAD, on the other hand, is an emerging industry-grade CAD software known for its versatility, speed, and compatibility with DWG-based environments. Together, these tools significantly improve productivity, accuracy, and design flexibility for mechanical engineering professionals.
To deliver this hands-on experience, the institute has invited Mr. Pankaj Kumar, CEO of Global Technology, as the resource person. With extensive experience in CAD customization, engineering software training, and industrial design solutions, Mr. Kumar brings valuable insights into practical applications of AutoLISP and BricsCAD. His session will cover essential topics such as introduction to programming in AutoLISP, writing basic scripts, automating drawing operations, understanding BricsCAD’s interface, utilizing key features for mechanical drafting, and exploring real-world applications of both tools.
This workshop is structured to be highly interactive, enabling students to practice in real-time under expert supervision. The session includes live demonstrations, problem-solving activities, and guided exercises to ensure participants develop a strong conceptual and applied understanding. Students will also learn how CAD automation contributes to reducing design cycle time, improving accuracy, and enhancing overall engineering workflow efficiency.
By participating in this event, students will gain critical technical skills that go beyond conventional classroom learning. The workshop supports the institute’s vision to empower students with industry-relevant competencies and make them future-ready for professional roles in design, manufacturing, and R&D sectors. Exposure to AutoLISP and BricsCAD will also help students in their academic projects, internships, and future career opportunities by strengthening their CAD proficiency and analytical approach to engineering design problems.
