Event Detailed Description

The Food Fiesta – Desh Ke Har Zaike Ka Jashn was a grand and colourful celebration organized by the students of School of Business at Galgotias University on 10th October 2025 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the University C – Block Ground. The event was conceptualized with the vision of celebrating India’s diverse culinary heritage through an engaging, student-led platform that combined learning, fun, and cultural pride.

The primary aim of the event was to highlight India’s regional vegetarian cuisines while providing students with an opportunity to demonstrate their culinary skills, creativity, teamwork, and entrepreneurial abilities. It was designed not just as a food event but as a holistic experience promoting sustainability, hygiene awareness, and cultural exchange.

The fiesta featured more than ten food stalls, each themed around a specific region of India — North, South, East and West. Every stall was meticulously decorated with traditional elements such as regional attire, colourful posters, and props representing local culture. The students prepared authentic vegetarian dishes, showcasing the richness and variety of Indian cuisine i.e. from spicy chaat and crispy vadas to Punjabi lassi and Rajasthani delicacies.

The event commenced with an energetic opening ceremony that included a traditional folk dance and short musical performances by students, setting a festive tone. Throughout the day, live singing, dance acts, and interactive sessions kept the audience engaged. Adding to the excitement were fun competitions like the “Spin the Wheel” and “Match the Bottles”, which drew enthusiastic participation and laughter from both students and faculty. Prizes were awarded for Best Stall, Most Hygienic Stall, and Best Regional Representation, motivating participants to excel in creativity and presentation.

To ensure smooth execution, the organizing committee implemented strict rules emphasizing hygiene, safety, and fair participation. Only vegetarian food was permitted, and open flames or gas stoves were strictly prohibited. Transactions were managed through a coupon system to maintain transparency and efficiency. The organizers provided the setup essentials, while participants handled their own ingredients, decorations, and management, promoting self-reliance and leadership.

With over 75 student participants and more than 1500+ attendees, including faculty members, the event turned out to be an overwhelming success. It not only celebrated food but also fostered interpersonal connections, teamwork, and cultural appreciation among students from various backgrounds.

In terms of impact, Food Fiesta encouraged students to think innovatively, manage resources effectively, and work collaboratively — essential skills for both academic and professional growth. Feedback from attendees was highly positive, with many suggesting that the event be held annually with extended duration and more regional stalls.

Overall, Food Fiesta was a remarkable blend of taste, tradition, and togetherness, truly representing the spirit of Desh Ke Har Zaike Ka Jashn— a delightful journey across India’s Flavors brought to life by passionate students.
