Faculty Development Workshop on ‘DHIMAHI’
Event Date: 28th–29th June 2025
Faculty of the School of Liberal Education at Galgotias University have successfully participated in a transformative Faculty Development Workshop on Dhimahi, a specially designed course by Heartfulness, held on 28th–29th June 2025 at RK Puram Ashram, New Delhi.
The workshop was facilitated by Br. Ram Krishna Mallela, National Program Director, Heartfulness Education Trust, Kanha Shanti Vanam, the course designer and lead facilitator of ‘DHIMAHI’. Through this immersive experience, it explored the profound teachings of Raja Yoga, Dhyana (meditation), and inner transformation aligned with Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) and the vision of NEP 2020.
‘DHIMAHI’ is a value-added course created to introduce the youth of India to Universal Human Values, holistic living, and inner excellence through the lens of India’s ancient spiritual wisdom. It aims to reawaken consciousness, nurture ethical leadership, and foster harmony within and around.
The program envisions the integration of traditional wisdom with modern education — gifting the enduring treasure of Bharatiya knowledge to young minds, helping them lead purposeful and value-centered lives.
The workshop focused on:
- Inner awareness, mindfulness, and emotional resilience.
- Integrating Universal Human Values into teaching and learning practices.
- Empowering educators to become ethical role models and value-based leaders.
- Re-establishing a deep connection with India’s cultural and spiritual heritage.
Faculty engaged in reflective sessions, guided meditation practices, collaborative group learning, and interactive modules that opened pathways for self-realization, ethical clarity, and harmonious living. The facilitators emphasized the importance of inner excellence as the foundation for outer effectiveness—both personally and professionally.
What set this workshop apart was its experiential pedagogy, which actively engaged faculty participants in a range of enriching academic and reflective activities. These included:
- Group Activities: Interactive tasks designed to build team coherence, inner listening, and value-based leadership practices.
- Readings from the Dhimahi Course Book: Faculty explored selected chapters that emphasized self-governance, mindfulness, and the ethical responsibilities of educators.
- Group Discussions: Thought-provoking dialogues that connected ancient wisdom to contemporary academic challenges.
- Assignments: Reflective and application-based tasks to internalize core concepts.
- Question-and-Answer Sessions: Facilitator-led Q&A to clarify doubts and deepen conceptual understanding of Raja Yoga and Dhyana practices.
These activities created a vibrant learning environment, enabling participants to internalize the teachings through active reflection and collaboration.
