The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Galgotias University, in collaboration with ISIEINDIA Pvt. Ltd., organized a five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) from 24th to 28th July 2023 on “Recent Advancements and Challenges in Electric Vehicle Technology.” Conducted in hybrid mode, this FDP aimed to upskill faculty and research professionals in the evolving domain of electric mobility.

Renowned experts from IITs, international universities, and industry leaders delivered insightful sessions covering battery technologies, motor greases, thermal management, simulation tools, and market transitions in the EV domain. The program also featured hands-on lab sessions, interactive Q&A segments, and a closing quiz to consolidate learning outcomes.

A total of 78 participants, including 57 external faculty from across India, attended the program. The event fostered academic-industry interaction and built capacity for integrating EV technologies into engineering education.

The Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled Recent Advancements and Challenges in Electric Vehicle Technology was held from 24th to 28th July 2023 at Galgotias University in hybrid mode. Sponsored by ISIEINDIA Pvt. Ltd., the program featured expert talks, lab sessions, and academic discourse on emerging trends in electric vehicles.

Keynote speakers included:

  • Prof. Dibakar Rakshit (IIT Delhi): Shared insights on battery technologies, sustainability, and materials.
  • Dr. Abhishek Kumar (UCMCRD, California): Discussed lubrication challenges in EV motor bearings.
  • Dr. B. S. Ramesha (Altair India): Spoke on design and simulation optimization in EV manufacturing.
  • Shree Kumar G (ISIE): Delivered case studies and technological evolution in the EV sector.
  • Prof. Sandip Kumar Saha (IIT Bombay): Explained battery thermal management systems.
  • Mr. Atul Gaur (PIKCART, Noida): Described EV market trends and the industry’s transition from conventional vehicles.

Each day featured expert welcome, keynote lectures, Q&A sessions, and lab modules focusing on real-time simulation, software tools like Hypermesh, and EV architecture.

A total of 78 faculty members participated, including 57 from institutions outside Galgotias University. The concluding session included a quiz and feedback round. Participants expressed high satisfaction with the content delivery and expert diversity.
