Career Guidance Session for UPSC aspirants and Future public leaders

Event brief description – The School of Liberal Education, Galgotias University, as a part of its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vajiram and Ravi Civil Services Coaching Institute, organized a transformative Career Guidance Session on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM, for UPSC aspirant students and future public leaders. The Resource person was Mr. Tejasva, All India Rank 308 – UPSC CSE 2024, who inspired students with practical strategies and mindset shifts needed to conquer one of India’s toughest exams. The session was curated to empower and guide aspiring civil servants by sharing practical strategies, preparation techniques, and motivational insights from a successful candidate who has recently cleared the examination.

The session began with a warm welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Anuradha Parasar, Dean, School of Liberal Education, who highlighted the importance of real-life heroes and such knowledge-sharing events in nurturing responsible and visionary public leaders. She emphasized that such initiatives align with the vision of the School of Liberal Education to prepare students for national service and leadership. 

Thereafter, Dr Devika Sharma, Associate Professor, Political Science, SOLE, gave a brief introduction about the expert, Mr Tejasva and invited him on the stage. The expert shared his own journey of the civil services exam preparation, his own intrinsic motivation which guided him through his initial failures and eventual success.

He drew the attention of the students to the three C’s of Success: consistency, curiosity and courage. Mr Tejasva debunked common myths about the UPSC exam, clarifying what content to prioritize and what to skip. He helped the aspirants to understand marks distribution and answer writing expectations. The resource person emphasized the smart use of mentorship and digital tools like ChatGPT. Mr Tejasva drew the attention of the aspirants towards overcoming common psychological barriers like procrastination and burnout. 

The session saw high student engagement as attendees. They posed insightful questions, ranging from balancing graduation studies with UPSC preparation. The aspirants inquired from the civil services topper about the strategies to deal with mental stress and fatigue. The expert also explained to the students about how to bounce back from failures or demotivation. Mr. Tejasva responded to each query with thoughtful and authentic examples from his own journey, making the discussion both relatable and deeply motivating.

The session was widely appreciated by students across various disciplines. Many expressed that the real-world approach and accessible advice gave them clarity and inspiration to structure their UPSC preparation more effectively.
