Event Date: 23-04-2025

As a part of the ongoing academic and career-oriented initiatives under the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Galgotias University and Nihonkai India, the School of Liberal Education successfully organized an expert talk on the topic “Passion Meets Profession: Finding Purpose in Your Career” on 23rd of April 2025. The session was coordinated by Dr. Shadab Ahmad Ansari, Professor of Psychology, and conducted under the mentorship of Dr. Anuradha Parasar, Dean of the School of Liberal Education. The event drew an enthusiastic audience of students and faculty members and took place in Room C-102.

The keynote address was delivered by Ms. Ashima Mehta, a distinguished professional and the Executive Director of Nihonkai India, MIA Corporation Japan. Ms. Mehta brought with her a wealth of experience and shared compelling insights into aligning passion with professional pursuits. She spoke about the importance of understanding one’s own values, interests, and strengths as foundational steps in shaping a meaningful career. The talk explored key topics such as overcoming career confusion, developing emotional resilience, adapting to global work environments, and building a sense of purpose through one’s profession.

What made the session particularly impactful was its interactive nature. Ms. Mehta engaged the audience through reflective activities, self-assessment exercises, and inspiring real-life anecdotes. Students actively participated in the discussion, raising questions about career paths, industry expectations, and the challenges of balancing personal goals with societal demands. The session also emphasized the importance of mental well-being and emotional intelligence in managing transitions and stress in career decision-making.

The learning outcomes of the session were both practical and motivational. Students gained greater clarity about their personal career aspirations and understood how aligning professional goals with personal passions can lead to more fulfilling and sustainable careers. They were introduced to strategies for navigating early-career dilemmas and were encouraged to embrace self-exploration as an integral part of career development. The talk also highlighted the skills essential for succeeding in dynamic, cross-cultural workspaces—such as adaptability, communication, and empathy.

Looking ahead, the insights shared during the talk can be applied in various domains of students' academic and professional lives. The session directly contributes to improved career planning, decision-making, and self-awareness, all of which are vital for internship readiness and employability. These qualities empower students to contribute to inclusive, peaceful, and accountable institutions in their professional lives. Moreover, the collaboration with Nihonkai India reinforces the university’s commitment to creating real-world learning opportunities through industry-academia partnerships.

The session concluded with a round of Q&A followed by a vote of thanks, appreciating Ms. Ashima Mehta for her thought-provoking presentation. Participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to engage with a seasoned expert and acknowledged the relevance of the session in today’s competitive and evolving job landscape.
