Detailed Description – The School of Design at Galgotias University arranged a comprehensive and enriching studio visit to Cityspace'82 Architects, a prominent architectural practice in Gurugram. The visit was conducted on June 28, 2025 and was supervised by Ar. Ruchi (HOD and Professor), Ar. Anushka Gupta, and Ar. Neha Bhardwaj. The group consisted of 25 students from the B.Des – Interior Design program. Ms. Bhavya Sharma, a member of the Cityspace'82 team, conducted a studio tour to commence the visit. Students gained a firsthand comprehension of the collaborative processes involved in architectural and interior design practices by engaging with the firm's project leads, interior design team, and 3D visualisation team. They observed ongoing projects, digital renderings, and material palettes, which provided a multifaceted comprehension of the process by which conceptual ideas are transformed into tangible results. Students participated in an interactive session with Ar. Sumit Dhawan, the Founder and Principal Architect of Cityspace'82 Architects, following the tour. Ar. Dhawan provided a comprehensive discussion of his design philosophy and vision, including his approach to spatial experiences, furniture sourcing, the importance of sustainability, and the distinction between being a successful architect and operating a successful practice. He also emphasised the influence of illumination on spatial aesthetics, engaging students in a more in-depth examination of design details. The interior design team's mood board presentation was a standout moment of the visit. The design leaders guided the students through the process of comprehending client briefs, translating moods and concepts into materials and forms, and iterating ideas through visual presentations. This was succeeded by a comprehensive project presentation by Ms. Bhavya, which displayed one of the firm's completed projects. The presentation detailed the challenges, design development, and execution phases. Professional workflows, client-centric approaches, and the creative dynamics of a premier contemporary design studio were all observed by students during this studio visit, which was an uncommon opportunity.

Event Outcome

Through interactions with the interior design and 3D visualization teams, as well as a detailed session with Ar. Sumit Dhawan, students developed a deeper understanding of design thinking, sustainability, material selection, and client-centric approaches. The event successfully bridged theoretical knowledge with practical application, encouraging students to think critically, creatively, and ethically in their future design endeavors.
