The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Galgotias University, organized an insightful alumni talk on the topic “Campus to Corporate: The Mindset Shift Every Engineer Must Make” on 17th May 2025, at 2:00 PM. The session was held at the Galgotias Knowledge Centre, AI & DS Block, and witnessed active participation from students and faculty members alike.
The guest speaker for the event was Mr. Faizan Ahmad, an esteemed alumnus of the 2012-16 B.Tech (Mechanical Engineering) batch and currently working as a Senior Talent Acquisition Associate at Deutsche Telekom Digital Labs (DTDL). With a career journey that started in a consulting firm in 2018 and later transitioning into the telecom and product development sector with DTDL in 2021, Mr. Ahmad brought valuable insights drawn from real-world experience.
In his talk, Mr. Ahmad focused on the critical transformation students must undergo while transitioning from academic life to the corporate world. Emphasizing the importance of adaptability, communication skills, emotional intelligence, and continual learning, he guided students on how to align their technical skills with corporate expectations. Mr. Ahmad also shared his personal journey—from his roots in Patna, Bihar, to becoming a successful HR professional in an international telecom brand.
