A Legal Awareness Workshop at Juvenile Home

The Bal Uday in collaboration with Legal Aid Clinic, School of Law, Galgotias University has successful organised a workshop at Juvenile Home, Noida Phase 2 . It aimed to give essential life knowledge to the children living in Juvenile Home and encouraged them to grab opportunities that help them to achieve success in their life. The workshop also aimed to spread awareness and motivation among the children at the Juvenile Home through the session.
The workshop includes the presence of Ms. Shubhi Mishra, Ms. Drrishti Kardam, Mrs. Gayatri Misra, Ms. Erica and Ms. Sumukhi. They all shared their insightful experience on law for children, legal awareness and motivated them with some real life examples. Interaction covered some basic and very important topics such as POCSO Act, Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act, Positive Thinking, Inspirational Stories ad one-on-one interactions.
A special note of thanks was extended to the mentors and faculties of Galgotias University, Mr. Kumar Kunal,Mr, Sushant Dabral and Mr. Rachit Tondon whose continuous support made the workshop successful. The workshop concluded with knowledge to the children about Good Deed and Bad Deed Difference and laws that are made for the protection of children and related legal awareness.
Event Detailed Description :
The Bal Uday collebration with Legal Aid Clinic, School of law, Galgotias University, successfully organised a workshop at Juvenile Homes focusing on providing basic real life knowledge about laws and its related aspects that helped them understand their current life situations and ways through which they can overcome and build a better life.
The workshop was conducted on 17th May, 2025 and the workshop was managed by School of Law, Galgotias University faculty members and mentors Mr. Kumar Kunal, Mr. Sushant Dabral and Mr. Rachit Tondon ensuring an insightful and impactful commencement of the workshop. The workshop also included Bal Uday members Ms. Shubhi, Ms. Sumukhi, Ms. Drrishti, Mrs. Gayatri and Ms. Erica, who shared their knowledge and experience to the children and interacted with them to find solutions to their problems.
The workshop began with an insightful interaction with the children made by Ms. Shubhi Mishra who encouraged children to fill out a form which ask them basic questions related legal knowledge and weather they are aware about the consequences they will face if done something unlawful. After every children completed with filling out the form they were asked to draw what they want to become in the future and the team received a good and very innovative responses.
The workshop than followed by inviting Ms. Drrishti Kardam who shared her life story about how she became an advocate and what all challenges she need to face to achieve her goal. She also motivated children to work hard and take help from people they trust on to move forward and achieve their dreams.
It also included the participation of volunteers from Galgotias University who presented a skit that helped children to understand the difference between a Good deed and Bad deed followed by each volunteer presenting a life story of real life role models from which children gets inspiration and enjoyed the act.
Further, Ms. Sumukhi and Ms. Shubhi also discussed about the importance of basic legal knowledge and POCSO act which will protect children from any sexual harassment and any illegal happening. Also they made children aware about how to be away from being unfortunately caught in the act of crime and run away to someone who can actually help them from stopping that crime from happening. The workshop also helped children to know about what is a Good touch and a Bad touch and if they experience any type of uncomfortable touch than whom should they contact.
The session concluded with a feedback form to gauge understanding, and the responses indicated a positive impact. Refreshments were distributed as the team bid farewell to the participants. The event was a successful step in guiding and inspiring the young attendees toward a more informed and hopeful life path.

Event Outcome :
The workshop successfully achieved its objectives by providing essential legal knowledge about the POCSO Act, the Juvenile Justice Act, and basic human rights to children at the Juvenile Home. It empowered participants with an understanding of good vs bad deeds, positive thinking, and protective laws. The active participation and feedback revealed a positive shift in awareness and a desire for more such sessions in the future.
