Dr. Anurag Anant

Assistant Professor

Dr. Anurag Anant holds the position of Assistant Professor in the School of Media and Communications (SMCS). His doctorate was completed at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Central University in Lucknow, and he earned his M.Phil from Central University of Gujarat. His Doctoral Thesis focuses on emergence of alternative media and its impact on society, while his M.Phil research examined how mass mobilization patterns have changed in response to the advent of new media technologies.

He is a skilled writer. He has demonstrated his abilities in creative writing. In the Lallantop Kahani competition held during the Sahitya Aajtak event in the years 2017 and 2019, he has won one lakh rupees twice. Additionally, he took home the top place award in the 2021 Bynge Hindi National Story writing Competition organized by the Notion Press. He firmly believes that efficiency and productivity at work are important. He has a sincere work ethic and the capacity to perform well in a busy deadline-driven setting. As a committed educator, he feels that education should encompass more than just helping learners grasp the fundamental ideas of a subject; it should also foster critical thinking skills and the evaluation of alternative approaches to problem-solving.

He has over ten years of experience working as a freelance writer, journalist, and contributor for numerous national news papers, magazines, news portals, and media organizations. He started working at Galgotias University in November 2023, having previously held a position at The Lallantop of India Today Group. He works under the pen name Anurag Anant, and his stories, reportage, and poems have appeared in many magazines as well as online portals and websites.
