Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) is a discipline devoted to the study and advancement of computational methods and data analysis techniques to analyze and understand natural and engineered systems.
The School of Computing Science & Engineering is a diverse, interdisciplinary innovation ecosystem comprising of distinguished faculty, researchers, and students. The School is carrying forward its mission to create future leaders who will keep pace with and solve the most challenging problems in science, engineering, health, and social domains.
The School of CSE is headed by Dr. Raju Shanmugam who has over 23 years of rich academic and industry experience. At present, the School has more than 1500 students and 50 core faculty members apart from many visiting professors, distinguished professionals from industry, eminent researchers and teaching/research assistants. Faculty members of the School are actively involved in different domains of research such as Computer Networks, Software Engineering, Digital Image Processing, Wireless Sensor Networks, Computer Graphics, Database Management Systems, Software Testing and Multimedia.
The School of CSE provides extensive computing resources for research and education. The School supports specialized equipment for individual research efforts in vision, computer architecture, networking, security, mobile systems, and distributed computing. The well designed curricula and the fully flexible credit system enable the students to acquire the relevant knowledge and skills with lot of flexibility in choosing the courses of interest. The School has a good record of organizing seminars, workshops, symposia and conferences in emerging technological areas.
With an objective of developing core competence in the respective subject matter specializations and special interest groups for learning newer technologies, the School has formed the following five technical divisions namely:

- Software System
- System Sciences, Soft Computing, Big Data & Application
