The School of Computing Science and Engineering introduces this program to provide high quality undergraduate education to the students with the objective of preparing them for prolific careers and providing graduate training in some focused area of Computer Science and Engineering. This School strives for excellence in producing graduates who will reinforce core computing areas while inventing and implementing new technology. The graduates will be able to apply sound judgment to the production, communal, ethical and professional issues of the rapidly developing computing industry.

The program will contribute towards the advancement of Computational Technologies and prepare graduates trained in the design, implementation, and analysis of computational systems and skilled in technical communication. Each of the courses in our curriculum is designed to help students achieve specific learning objectives. This program provides industry, business, or government with a highly skilled resource and also provides support programs for students in engineering, mathematics, and other fields requiring computing skills. After successful completion of Computer Science and Engineering program, students will be able to exhibit expertise in problem-solving techniques using the computer, achieve proficiency in programming languages, operating systems and breadth- Department of comprehension in this discipline.

B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering with specialization in Computer Networks & Cyber Security

In today's networked world, most organizations and enterprises depend on different kinds of information technology solutions, e-commerce, e-governance, e-learning, e-banking etc. All communications must be secure and under control since the information stored and conveyed is ultimately an invaluable resource of the business. Securing vital resources and information in the network is the most challenging feat for system enterprise. The growing number of the computer Network (internet/intranet) attacks and sophistication in attack technologies has made this task still more complicated. The course content is developed with the support of Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and IT, Government of India. Therefore, the need of the hour is to update the knowledge of the personnel manning networks and systems on the network security issues and solutions. The time of Networks and Systems professionals working in an organization is very valuable and hence it is difficult to spare their time for training away from the organizations.

B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering with specialisation in Data Analytics

Data Analytics is concerned with the acquisition, storage, retrieval, processing and finally the conversion of data into knowledge where the quantum of data is very large. This knowledge could help us understand our world better, and in many contexts enable us to make better decisions. Now a day’s 'Data Analytics' are newly developed interdisciplinary programs that includes diverse application domains .There are many applications, such as social media, healthcare, e-commerce, weather forecast, traffic monitoring, etc., that are producing massive amounts of data, the so-called “BIG DATA”, with Volume, Velocity, Variety, Veracity and Value (the five “Vs” of Big Data challenges) at an unprecedented scale. This has led to a critical need for skilled professionals, popularly known as Data Scientists or Data analytics, which can mine, interpret and predict the data.

The curriculum exposes students with all aspects of data analytics including research design, data collection, preparation, analysis, integration, visualization, and interpretation.

This will be achieved by an approach involving rigorous and comprehensive academic course work covering theory, fundamentals and hands-on experience with real-world applications. The curriculum is strongly oriented towards industry and emphasizes industry internship, projects, and entrepreneurship. It is expected that the graduates of the proposed program will mostly join the fast growing Data Analytics industry as technical experts and few will even launch their own IT start-ups in this field.

B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering with specialization in Cloud Computing & Virtualization

The next wave of computing is in the Cloud! Increasingly businesses want to get out of the complexity of managing data centers and instead focus on their core competencies. This means that more and more businesses will adopt cloud computing as a means to handle their IT requirements which gives them the freedom from day-to-day management of IT infrastructure.

Cloud Computing is one of the fastest growing paradigms in the IT industry today. As per a leading research firm IDC, worldwide spending on Cloud services will reach $42 billion by 2012.

This B.Tech program with the specialization in Cloud Computing & Virtualization will help students understand Cloud Computing and Virtualization technologies. Cloud Computing is very much a work in progress at this time and so while the course comprehensively covers the basic technologies involved, the history of the cloud and its roots in Service Oriented Architecture and Utility Computing, it has ample scope to take in the fast changing models that are thrown out by cloud computing. Students of this program will also benefit from the several practical credits that provide hands-on capabilities on the various aspects of cloud.

Open Source and Open Standards movement in the IT World is gaining momentum by the day. As the end customer clamor for more freedom of choice and lower costs, they demand openness in the application architecture and free of charge source code. The IT industry which has thrived on IP for decades, then, needs to move to higher level of creating value, leaving lower level value creation to OSS players.

This ongoing dynamics is helping Open Source software players to mature their offerings rapidly, so that a large number of end users can take advantage of free of charge software and source code.

Apart from Open Source, the Open Standards is an important phenomenon too. Special focus is on Industry open standards, aligned to vertical domain such as Retail, Healthcare, Banking, Insurance, and such. There is growing realization in the IT world that our end customer reside in industry verticals. That’s why we now have increasing focus on domain expertise and skills. This skilling can be more effective when the learning is aligned to industry open standards, so that the applications they support conform to already accepted interfaces and standards.

The true freedom of choice for the end customer is available only when the architecture of an industry application software conforms to Open Standards, and the software is written using the principles of Open Source. This combination provides complete vendor neutrality to an end user, since both the data structures as well as the source code is available to them.

It is very advantageous to a student in coming years to align to a vertical industry or at least to know one or two industry vertical application domains based on open standards. This will prepare the student to face the live project situation when one passes out from higher education segment and gets into a job in the IT industry. The student would then find oneself more ready for a real world situation, and hence increasing one’s chances of success many fold.

Internet of Things (IoT) is an interdisciplinary program increased its application enormously in recent years in view of its having a vast scope. IoT generally refers to a growing network of internet-connected devices that find various applications in Engineering and sciences. It is the world wide network of interconnected objects and embedded systems using which the inter-connectivity of everything from urban transport to medical devices to household appliances, smart watches and other wearable technologies, home electronics and appliances, cars and heart monitoring implants can be studied.

This program aims to train students to be equipped with a solid theoretical foundation, systematic professional knowledge and strong practical skills in the fields of computer technology, communications networks and IT, that provides a wide range of applications in the Internet of Things. This specialization is designed to enable students to build intelligent machines with a cutting-edge combination of machine learning, analytics and visualization technologies. Program Overview

This program aims to develop graduates that are not only well versed with computing approaches, tools, and technologies, but are also experienced with Design approaches and new Media technologies and uses. It will prepare students to work in the IT industry as well as digital media industry like gaming, animation, virtual/augmented reality, etc. The program will also allow students, who want to pursue higher studies, to take up higher studies in CS/IT or in Design.
