B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering

The School of Computing Science and Engineering introduces this program to provide high quality undergraduate education to the students with the objective of preparing them for prolific careers and providing graduate training in some focused area of Computer Science and Engineering. This School strives for excellence in producing graduates who will reinforce core computing areas while inventing and implementing new technology. The graduates will be able to apply sound judgment to the production, communal, ethical and professional issues of the rapidly developing computing industry.

The program will contribute towards the advancement of Computational Technologies and prepare graduates trained in the design, implementation, and analysis of computational systems and skilled in technical communication. Each of the courses in our curriculum is designed to help students achieve specific learning objectives. This program provides industry, business, or government with a highly skilled resource and also provides support programs for students in engineering, mathematics, and other fields requiring computing skills. After successful completion of Computer Science and Engineering program, students will be able to exhibit expertise in problem-solving techniques using the computer, achieve proficiency in programming languages, operating systems and breadth- Department of comprehension in this discipline.

B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science

About the program

Data Analytics is concerned with the acquisition, storage, retrieval, processing and finally the conversion of data into knowledge where the quantum of data is very large. This knowledge could help us understand our world better, and in many contexts enable us to make better decisions. Now a day’s 'Data Analytics' are newly developed interdisciplinary programs that includes diverse application domains .There are many applications, such as social media, healthcare, e-commerce, weather forecast, traffic monitoring, etc., that are producing massive amounts of data, the so-called “BIG DATA”, with Volume, Velocity, Variety, Veracity and Value (the five “Vs” of Big Data challenges) at an unprecedented scale. This has led to a critical need for skilled professionals, popularly known as Data Scientists or Data analytics, which can mine, interpret and predict the data.

The curriculum exposes students with all aspects of data analytics including research design, data collection, preparation, analysis, integration, visualization, and interpretation.

This will be achieved by an approach involving rigorous and comprehensive academic course work covering theory, fundamentals and hands-on experience with real-world applications. The curriculum is strongly oriented towards industry and emphasizes industry internship, projects, and entrepreneurship. It is expected that the graduates of the proposed program will mostly join the fast growing Data Analytics industry as technical experts and few will even launch their own IT start-ups in this field.

Cyber Security

Programme Overview

Computer systems play an important role in our day to day lives. We rely on these systems for purposes such as – entertainment, banking, education, governance, shopping, healthcare, business, research etc. cyber security deals with the security of computer systems from the theft of computer hardware, software, data and disruption or misdirection of the services provided by computer systems. Cyber Security also imparts knowledge about the body of technologies, processes and practices designed to protect networks, computers, programs and data from attack, damage or unauthorized access. The programme addresses the underlying need for cyber experts as the country is heading towards an internet explosion mostly fuelled by e-commerce, e-banking, e-governance and social media. One can gain advanced and in-depth knowledge of penetration testing, cyber forensics, malware reverse engineering and software vulnerability and can exploit research using a very hands-on approach.

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

Program Overview

This specialization is designed to enable students to build intelligent machines with a cutting-edge combination of machine learning, analytics and visualization technologies. Students will acquire ability to explain and apply key ideas in artificial intelligence and machine learning and how they are being used in IBM, Google, Amazon, Facebook, etc. They will gain knowledge of related fields such as natural language processing, text mining, robotics, reasoning and problem solving. Students will get experience in implementing scalable solutions with AI and machine leaning components, technologies and tools.

Internet of Things and Cyber Security Including Block Chain Technology

About the Program

B.Tech. in B.Tech CSE (IoT & cyber security including Blockchain Technology) is a four-year undergraduate programme offered at School of Computing Science and Engineering that familiarises students with the functional and operational aspects of IoT including cyber security and blockchain technology. Billions of interconnected smart devices measuring, moving, and acting upon all the bits of data that makes up daily life, so IoT represents a tremendous opportunity for various types of companies, including IoT application and service providers, IoT platform providers and integrators, telecom operators, and software vendors. These IOT enabled devices and computer systems play an important role in our day to day lives. We rely on these systems for purposes such as – entertainment, banking, education, governance, shopping, healthcare, business, research etc. cyber security deals with the security of computer systems from the theft of computer hardware, software, data and disruption or misdirection of the services provided by computer systems. Cyber Security also imparts knowledge about the body of technologies, processes and practices designed to protect networks, computers, programs and data from attack, damage or unauthorized access. The curriculum of this programme is designed in such a way along with IOT and Cyber Security that students are also exposed to the Basic Cryptographic primitives used in Blockchain, basic Distributed System concepts, Basic Blockchain concepts, Limitations of blockchain as a technology, and myths vs reality of blockchain technology and have an understanding and working knowledge of the emerging blockchain technology. During the tenure of this programme, students develop an understanding of the emerging abstract models for Blockchain Technology.

Gaming Technology

Program Overview

This program aims to develop graduates that are not only well versed with computing approaches, tools, and technologies, but are also experienced with Design approaches and new Media technologies and uses. It will prepare students to work in the IT industry as well as digital media industry like gaming, animation, virtual/augmented reality, etc. The program will also allow students, who want to pursue higher studies, to take up higher studies in CS/IT or in Design.

Cloud Computing & virtualization

The next wave of computing is in the Cloud! Increasingly businesses want to get out of the complexity of managing data centers and instead focus on their core competencies. This means that more and more businesses will adopt cloud computing as a means to handle their IT requirements which gives them the freedom from day-to-day management of IT infrastructure.

Cloud Computing is one of the fastest growing paradigms in the IT industry today. As per a leading research firm IDC, worldwide spending on Cloud services will reach $42 billion by 2012.

This B.Tech program with the specialization in Cloud Computing & Virtualization will help students understand Cloud Computing and Virtualization technologies. Cloud Computing is very much a work in progress at this time and so while the course comprehensively covers the basic technologies involved, the history of the cloud and its roots in Service Oriented Architecture and Utility Computing, it has ample scope to take in the fast changing models that are thrown out by cloud computing. Students of this program will also benefit from the several practical credits that provide hands-on capabilities on the various aspects of cloud.

The M. Tech. program at the School of Computer Science & Engineering will challenge the intellect of the students and enhance their knowledge in various courses in Computer Science. The program will prepare students for a variety of industry jobs, jobs in R & D and even for a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science.

This programme has been designed to impart advanced knowledge in various areas of Computer Science. The programme is designed in such a way that a student can complete it based on advanced coursework alone. The structure of this program aims to nurture students by balancing core courses, advanced elective courses and a substantial dissertation or project. The program has been revised in such a way that it is able to cope up with the advances taking place in the field. All students get an opportunity to strengthen their knowledge of the fundamentals and to specialise in areas such as Algorithms, Bioinformatics, Cryptology, Image Processing, Networking, and Pattern Recognition.

The M. M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science

Program overview

M.Tech. in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science is a master’s program offered at School of Computing Science and Engineering having a comprehensive coverage of applied mathematics used in data science and artificial intelligence while preparing the students to analyse, design and experiment solutions to problems. Building human-level thought processes through the creation of artificial intelligence (AI) is the state-of-the-art in Computer Science. Intelligent machines are influenced by emerging technologies, smart devices, sensors, computing power, faster data processing, huge storage and human-machine interaction capabilities. Data Science is an interdisciplinary field with the ability to extract knowledge/insights from data - be it structured, unstructured, or semi-structured data. Twinned with Artificial Intelligence, more efficient solutions to find meaningful information from huge pools of data are possible today, with data from multiple sources - sensors, images, streaming video, satellite, medical imagery and the cloud. The curriculum targets technical and design skills, AI knowledge, and competencies needed to master strategic analytical methods and tools, and data management, with the objective of creating innovative strategies to solve challenging real-world problems.

Eligibility Notes: A Master's degree from a recognized Indian University or any other equivalent degree to the satisfaction of the Academic Council of the University, in the relevant field, with not less than 55% marks in aggregate or 6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale or equivalent.
