B.Tech in Chemical Engineering
This program focuses on imparting knowledge in design, development, operation and maintenance of processes involving Chemical Engineering. It includes fundamental understanding of chemistry, math and physics, in addition to the core areas of chemical engineering, like thermodynamics, chemical kinetics and transport processes along with other relevant courses. The program combines knowledge of Chemistry and Engineering for the production of chemicals and related by-products.
Minimum 60% marks in PCM in XIIth with minimum 40%ile or upto 5 Lakh rank in JEE Mains
Min. 60% marks in PCM in class XIIth (for Merit based admission)
For Lateral Entry:
Passed Diploma from AICTE approved institute in appropriate branch of engineering/technology with minimum 60% or 6.0 CGPA
B.Sc degree from a recognized university with at least 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA and passed XIIth standard with Mathematics as a subject.
For Migration from Other Universities:
1) B.E./B.Tech Ist year minimum 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale
2) 65% PCM or above at XII level.
Chemical Engineering is unique in the engineering profession in that it requires a strong foundation in chemical principles, as well as in the physical and engineering sciences common to all branches of engineering. An education in chemical engineering is one of the broadest—the chemical engineer may find employment in all phases of technical operations. Chemical process industries supply society with a vast array of products, including chemicals, fuels, plastics, metals, foods, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and cryogenic materials. In recent years, chemical engineers have found employment in the microelectronics industry and in the advanced materials, biochemical and biomedical engineering fields. Chemical engineers also serve society by reducing and eliminating pollution.
The primary objective of the department is to prepare engineers who are well qualified to design and operate chemical processes. The objectives of the department include the fostering of professional ethics, standards, and practices; the development of conceptual and analytical skills in problem solving; and the development of the student’s perception and creative faculties. The students will be able to achieve success in advanced studies if they so chose, and in pursuing a successful professional career in new and emerging areas, as well as traditional chemical engineering areas. The students will be able to attain leadership roles in professional careers in field of choice, with high levels of competence, ethics and safety consciousness. Finally, maintaining and raising their level of engineering competence and achievement by engaging in lifelong learning is one of the major objective of the department.
B.Tech in Food Technology
B.Tech. Food Technology is a 4-year undergraduate course involving an advanced study of the techniques and activities involved in preserving, processing, and manufacturing of food.
As a discipline, Food Technology is the combination of engineering, food science, hotel management, and home science. B.Tech. Food Technology course is an advanced study of the technology and processing methods used to develop, research, manufacture, produce, preserve, and process food and related substances.

Food Technology is the study of sciences related to food processing which involves, preservation of fruits, sea food, meats, cooked foods, vegetables, juices and beverages and also the manufacture of confectionary, snacks, foodstuffs and the packaging of these for marketing. Most food technologists specialize in one of these and many are involved in research. The job of food technologists entails:
- In charge for guiding the processing, conservation and preservation of food stuffs
- Creating new food stuffs ,improving flavors keeping the nutritive value intact
- Improving existing techniques for economizing processing, adding value, creating new tastes for providing impetus to marketing and consumption of processed foodstuffs
- Evolving measures such as infestation control, fungicidal treatment and insecticidal storage to protect foods from spoilage and damage
- Examining foodstuffs for contamination, adulteration, food value, etc. by biochemical and nutrition tests and quality control measures
- Developing new methods and processes for recovering useful and utilizable by products from industrial and domestic wastes of foodstuffs
- Use of processes such as blending, anti-oxidization etc.
- Research for new and improved food processing techniques
- Guide the packaging of different foodstuffs for making it more safe and attractive
Post Graduate Programs
M.Tech in Chemical Engineering
M.Tech. program in Chemical Engineering promotes development of practical, laboratory-based skills combined with expertise in computing and simulation in addition to core Chemical Engineering courses.
