Dr. Vikas Kumar Sharma

Assistant Professor (Horticulture)

Dr. Vikas Kumar Sharma completed his Ph.D. in Horticulture (Fruit Science) with a specialization in Soilless culture and vertical farming in strawberry from CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar (Haryana). He was awarded University Gold Medal for scoring highest marks in M.Sc. (Ag.) Horticulture, CCS University, Meerut (UP). He has an experience of more than five years in Teaching, Research and Extension activities. He has published several research papers in peer-reviewed National and International journals and presented several papers at conferences as well.

  • Participated in nine days training entitled, “Working group meeting cum training workshop on InfoCrop model for yield forecasting” sponsored by IMD, MoES, GOI held at Department of Agricultural Meteorology, CCS Haryana Agricultural University Hisar during 22nd – 30th April, 2013.

  • Training course on “Basics of Remote Sensing, Geographical Information System and Global Navigation Satellite System” at HARSAC, CCS HAU Campus, Hisar, Haryana, during Aug. 5th to Nov. 12nd 2013.

  • Training-cum-Awareness programme on “Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers” Right Act, 2001 organized by Deptt. of Seed Science and Technology CCS HAU, Hisar and PPV & FR Authority ICAR, New Delhi on March 6, 2012 at CCS HAU, Hisar.

  • Ten days training on “Protracted Cultivation of Horticultural Crops” held from October 26th – 6th November, 2015, organized by Students counseling & placement cell, CCS HAU, Hisar.

  • Training course on “Climate Resilient Farming” held from February 2nd – 11th, 2016, organized by Students counseling & placement cell, CCS HAU, Hisar.

  • Attended and successfully completed the training program in “Jaivik Kheti me Jaivik khad nirman aur pryog vidhi ka prasikshan” from 5th – 9th September, 2016 organized by State Organic Agriculture Training Institute, Majkhali, Almoda, Uttrakhand.
