Department of Finance and Commerce, Galgotias University, Greater Noida, Visited "Moon Beverages Ltd." on April 22, 2023. Students of Masters in Business Administration - Financial Management have visited the premises of Moon Beverages Ltd. to understand how Coca-Cola and its related accessories are produced. The students explored the dummy Coca-cola vault. This industrial visit program enhanced the knowledge of students about the manufacturing of beverages, bottles, canes, etc. The students were also made familiar with the history of Coca-cola. Students were also educated about the career opportunities in this sector.
School of Finance and Commerce, Report , “Farewell 2023”
The School of Finance and Commerce organized the farewell on 25th May,2023 in C block old Audi for the final year outgoing students. Farewell is basically a get to gather kind of celebration for the seniors who will be soon stepping out of that particular institute. All the students contributed and participated in an enthusiastic manner.
Hence juniors wish their seniors good luck for their next big adventures in life ahead. The event began at 11:30 with the theme “Every Ending has a New Beginning” and was followed by dance and various fun games which were conducted by the juniors. Later the final year students shared their experiences of their college journey. All the students were felicitated by the Dean and other faculty members. Dr. Anurag Kumar addressed the final year students with his motivational speech to achieve their dreams and ways to achieve growth in the field of finance.
Students were presented with special titles. Mr. SFC and Ms. SFC were presented to Mangalam and Ritu from MBA (FM). While Sneha Sharma from BBA(FIA) held the title of Ms. Farewell and Saurabh from MBA(FM) was presented with the title of Mr. Farewell.
The Event was coordinated by Dr Bhavna Sharma along with the GCS team members. The event smoothly ended and was greatly appreciated and applauded by the audience.
School of Finance & Commerce conducted a one week FDP on Advanced Techniques in Research and Quality Publications
School of Finance & Commerce (SFC), Galgotias University, Greater Noida, conducted a one week FDP from 9th May 2023 to 13 May 2023. The inaugural session of the FDP was felicitated by honourable Advisor of the University, Dr. Renu Luthra, a known academician and administrator and Dr Anurag Kumar, HOD, SFC. Dr Anurag Kumar is an esteemed leader who has been instrumental in developing and organising this event.
The training was arranged to orient novice researchers towards honing research skills that are needed to write a good research proposal. The programme summarized the important aspects related to the identification and refinement of research topic, strategies for searching, identifying, and reviewing relevant literatures, developing a literature map, problematization of research gap, framing the right research questions and objectives, research philosophies, crafting the research plan, and art of presenting the results.
Learning objectives: At the end of this programme the participants attained the following specific skills:
- To identify and refine feasible and worthwhile topic of research
- To apply advance research techniques
- To conduct a literature review, map the literature, and identify the research gap
- To formulate the research problem in a specific context
- To formulate research objectives and research questions
- To formulate hypotheses and develop a conceptual design for the study
- To write research methodology
The programme was delivered in hybrid mode on the first day i.e., face-to-face intensive hands-on mode as well as online mode. It was rigorous and interactive with several individual and group exercises. The participants could interact with accomplished scholars and fetch inspirational insights. Participants were expected to complete assignments based on the specific topics covered. The programme was participant-centric and practical. Every participant was required to bring their own laptop to apply the concepts taught.

- Dr. Simarjeet is currently working as Assistant Professor at Great Lakes Institute of Management, Gurugram (Topics covered: Introduction to the world of literature reviews, how to do structured reviews, publishing literature reviews in top tier journals, Hands on session using R studio)
- Dr Harish Kumar working as Assistant Professor at Great Lakes Institute of Management, Gurugram. (Topics covered: Dos and Don’ts of Qualitative publications, Mean end chain theory using laddering interviews and hands on practice on LadderUX software)
Since the FDP was focused upon Qualitative publications, therefore, it attempted to cover diversified aspects related to Research Publications and was designed to equip participants with comprehensive knowledge of various tools.
Aspects covered included a range of topics, like R studio, LadderUX Software, Reliability and validity of measurement instruments, Multivariate statistical Techniques.
Feedback of participants had been very encouraging, as according to them, they not just gained conceptual knowledge about various aspects of accounting & reporting; but also gained hands-on-knowledge on the basis of various practical accounting problems undertaken during this training. Also, participants showed their enthusiasm towards more FDPs like these to be conducted in the future. Moreover, it was also suggested to organize weekly FDPs on specific aspects.

As a part of the Academic Activity of the Department, in collaboration with Stock Daddy, an educational and erudite seminar was organized on “FINANCIAL MARKETING SKILLS” by MR CHIRRANJIEV KHANNA, who is a HOD of LEARNING DEPARTMENT STOCKDADDY. The seminar was held on 7th December 2022 with the students of SFC in room no A107. Dr.. Bhavana Sharma and Dr. Nupur Mishra was the faculty coordinator for the event and student coordinator was Sneha Sharma. The Seminar began with the welcoming of the Guest, students, and faculties, with existent to learn from each other and grow together. Followed next by Dr. Anurag Kr. Saxena [HOD], of school of finance and commerce, welcomed the guest and briefed us with a few words. Here After, the Hosts talked about his experiences and expressed his view about financial market. Followed up with Mr. Khanna to enlighten us with his thoughts and statement. Next, we had a question answers session put on by the audience and he answered generously. After this Dr. bhavana Sharma presented thanking note and lastly, host Sneha Sharma took up the charge by giving a vote of thanks and ended the event.
Talent Fest
Every event in a University holds the utmost importance as they provide a forum to the sparkling and budding youngsters to showcase and present the unknown self of them in front of the public. It not only paves a way to get themselves maneuvered, but also gives an opportunity to polish the skill set that a person has.
The department of School and Finance conducted "Talent Fest” on 29th November, an event to facilitate the talents of every individual and help them get adapted with a new stage in life. Being excited , the students of higher semesters were very delighted to welcome the new comers to the fraternity of our department.
The event began with a huge pomp and show. The anchors for the event were Priyadarshani and Rajat.
Getting started with a welcome speech the event advanced with a game to entertain the students and make them feel comfortable. Arrival of our honorable Dean Sir added stars to the event. We did proceed forward with a motivating speech from our Dean Sir. Thereafter, there was a dance competition. Everybody was amazed to see the marvelous moves and the diversity in the dance styles. After the dance competition, we had one more game which acted like a breather for the students. After getting done with the game, there was a singing competition and every participant sang excellently. Moving ahead we reached to the most exciting part of the event and that was the Fashion Walk. Each one was dressed up in their desired Bollywood style. The fashion walk began and it added charm to the environment. After the fashion walk, there was a poetry competition and the participants did some amazing poem recitations. Thereafter based on the performances, our judges selected few students for the Miss Fresher's and Mr. Fresher’s round. The selected students were asked questions and they presented their opinions and views . The day came to an end with the announcement of results, distribution of prizes a great photography session and a shout out to all the GCS members for their continuous endeavors in making every event a success.
