INTRODUCTION TO THE FORENSIC LABORATORY
The forensic science division has dedicated laboratories – DNA, Toxicology & Chemistry, Cyber & Digital. Fingerprints & Questioned Documents, Biology & Serology, Anthropology and Crime Scene. Many of these labs are funded by industry to give best experiential learning to students. In addition to these labs, crime scene lab is developed in open to ensure students undergo investigating real-life-like experience. The students are assigned several individual experiments/projects during their course of study. The purpose of these labs is to ensure that the students have a complete hands-on exposure with the working processes of different modules in forensic science. The labs are fully furnished and equipped with specialized kits used by the forensic professionals and investigating agencies. The world-class forensic anthropology lab also developed which has one of its kind bones which are utilized for the anthropological experiments.
INTRODUCTION TO THE LIFE SCIENCES LABORATORY
The Division of Life Science, Department of Bio-Sciences, School of Basic and Applied Sciences (SBAS) strives to develop, modify and innovate new teaching methodologies to facilitate better learning amongst students. The division provides Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral degrees in different areas of Lifesciences. The objective of these programs is to enable the students to develop an integrated approach for understanding the various life science problems at the molecular level and to ignite young minds to understand the world of microorganisms through application-based learning.
The Division is equipped with the best infrastructure and Labs for Post-graduate and Graduate students. The labs have modern instruments like centrifuge, microscope, laminar air flow, electrophoresis units. The division curriculum is designed in a way that emphasis more on hands-on practical experience. The students will learn practical skills in planning, executing, analyzing, and troubleshooting research protocol. The goal of the Biological Science lab is to expose students to various techniques in Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Biomedical science, Molecular biology, cell biology, Biological science, and Bio-Technology.
