A Silent Protest March organised by the Students of SLA April 23, 2018
India is the country of great cultural diversity and democracy. It's difficult past offers many heritages on which its citizen can proud on but on the same time It's matter of shame actually that in our country our female partners are not revered enough as human being but they are being raped at alarming rates. Rapes are so common now-a-days that the daily news of it does not make any unusual reactions from us. Somewhere, in our conscious mind we have accepted it as our national salient feature.
Definitely, the patriarchal mindset is the prime cause behind it and learning the issue, the students of School of Liberal Arts, Galgotias University decided to march silently on April 23, 2018 in campus. The undertone was that now words have not been effective enough to make change in our collective social psyche which is overwhelmed with patriarchal mindset, so to follow the saying, 'silence is golden' is only the viable option available. Students had wore black ribbon on their arms and made placards to show against rape and rape mentality. Suo Moto, the faculty members of the school has also joined actively the protest. As the silent protests proceeds from block C to B and A, it had made all the essential noises among the spectators silently.
Some Students had made their interventions with speeches. Prof. Sujaan Singh Negi had supported their view and concerns followed by faculty members of the school. Dainink Jagran had reported the march with photographs.
