An inaugural interdepartmental cricket match was organised by the School of Liberal Arts on 5th April 2018, under the expert guidance of the Dean, Dr. (Prof.) Sujaan Singh Negi. Players for the teams were handpicked through a rigorous ion process followed by intense training sessions. The two teams, Tagore Warriors and Bhagat Singh Lions, were headed by Prince Gautam and Anuj Kumar respectively, both of whom are students of B. A. (Honours) Political Science, Fourth Semester. The rigorous training was personally supervised by respected Dean, School of Liberal Arts. The final clash between the two teams was held in C-Block Ground, Galgotias University. Major Dheeman was invited as the chief guest for the match. Toss was won by Bhagat Singh Lions, who decided to bat first. Kulbhaskar and Suhail opened for Bhagat Singh Lions. Bhagat Singh Lions scored 77 runs in 14.3 overs at a loss of 10 wickets. The chase by Tagore Warriors team was led by Ankit and Prince as openers and they were able to chase the target with twelve balls and two wickets to spare. The winning runs were scored by Abhay of the Tagore Warriors who smashed the ball outside the boundary for a six. Prince Gautam, captain of Tagore Warriors, was also declared man of the match. Certificates were distributed to all the participants by the Dean, School of Liberal Arts and the Guest of Honour, Major Pradeep Dheeman. Honourable Chief Executive Officer of the University, Shri Dhruv Galgotia sent his best wishes for the playing eleven of both teams in the form of specially designed Galgotias University coffee mugs for the event. The Winning team was handed over the Winners Trophy and Prince Gautam, captain of Tagore Warriors, was also presented with the Man of the Match Trophy. Students of all the departments of the school were ed as players for this interdepartmental match. All the students of the school enthusiastically supported their favourite teams and players.
