3rd October 2020, The School of Education, Galgotias University organised a Principal&rsquos Talk on &ldquoNew Age Teacher: Challenges and Opportunities&rdquo. The session was conducted online through Zoom and YouTube live. B.Ed., M.Ed., Ph.D. students and faculty members of the Galgotias University as well as other institutes of the country participated in the talk.

The new age teaching has many challenges and amidst these challenges the teacher has to reinvent and stay relevant. With the aim of how such challenges could be confronted and survived with times, the talk was organised. Mr. Ved Kumar Mishra, Principal, Delhi Public School, Bareilly, U.P. a dynamic personality was invited to throw light on various facets of a new age teacher and teaching. Mr. Mishra explicitly explained that the new age is for the teachers who are ready to face the challenges of the world. An innovative formula of &ldquoK.A.S.H.&rdquo i.e. having great Knowledge, possessing teaching Attitude, developing Skill as the key and making teaching a Habit was the success mantra for 21st century teachers to imbibe. Effective communication skill, presentable personality and sharpening edges of his/her knowledge is what a teacher should be adorned with was suggested by the speaker. Differences in changed nature and focus of today&rsquos teaching from instructional to experiential was clarified. Challenges in integrating knowledge in teaching learning, multi-cultural society experience and having negative attitude towards learning were further focussed.

The entire presentation was illustrated with suitable and real scenario examples which proved to be insightful. In the begning Dr. Satyendra Gupta, Professor and Dean, welcomed the resource person and introduced him briefly about University and School of Education. Moderation done by Ms. Deepa Bisht. Queries posted by the participants were answered with utmost clarity. Dr. Shri Kant Dwivedi, Associate Professor, SOE concluded the session by proposing vote of thanks. Hearty gratitude was expressed for the speaker in making the session meaningful and enlightening.
