Financial Reporting involves the disclosure of financial information to the various stakeholders about the financial performance and financial position of the organization over a specified period of time. These stakeholders include &ndash investors, creditors, public, debt providers, governments & government agencies.
In these transformative times, the School of Finance and Commerce invited Mr. Harsh Agarwal to present a webinar on Financial Reporting for the benefit of the students and university fraternity.
Mr. Harsh Agarwal, is a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountant of India (ICAI) and is currently serving as a Senior Manager in SRBC & Co which is a member firm of EY, India. He has a vast experience in the field of accountancy and specializes in audits with 14+ years of experience in Audit and Assurance. He is engaged in providing audit services to both public and private clients in the manufacturing industry, infrastructure companies, information technology companies and information technology enabled services (IT/ITeS), Automotive industry etc.
Mr. Agarwal has experience in auditing Financial Statements under various GAAPs like International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and Indian GAAP / Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS).
The webinar commenced with the welcoming of guests and dignitaries, and presenting the profile of the speaker to the audience. Mr. Agarwal started the talk with the meaning and importance of Financial Reporting and introduction to Financial Statements. He then further went on to explain the forms of business organization and uses and users of financial information.
Furthermore, Mr, Agarwal also discussed the flow of transactions while preparing a financial statement. He ended the session with explaining various accounting standards which included IND AS, IFRS and US GAAP. He also gave a brief overview about the financial analysis.
The Dean SFC, Advisor to SFC, Deans of other schools, large number of faculty members of SFC and various other schools, students from all 5 programs of the school, and many external faculty members participated in the webinar. The session was throughout interactive and many questions were put by students as well as faculty members.
At the end a vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Arvind Sinha on behalf of SFC to the speaker, dignitaries, students and faculty members for cooperation extended in making it a successful event. The event would not have been successful without the sincere effort put in by the Co-curricular team volunteers in organizing the event.
