Galgotias University School of Finance and Commerce organized a Webinar on Internal Audit
TOPIC - INTERNAL AUDIT (Day and Date: 23rd August 2020)

Speaker - Ms. Piyusha Umesh Limaye, Associate Director Internal Audit at Evolent Health
Internal Audit is an independent management function, which involves a continuous and critical appraisal of the functioning of an entity with a view to suggest improvements thereto and add value to and strengthen the overall governance mechanism of the entity, including the entity&rsquos strategic risk management and internal control system.
In these transmuting times, the School of Finance and Commerce invited Ms. Piyusha Umesh Limaye , Associate Director Internal Auditor at Evolent Health, to present a webinar on Corporate Governance for the benefit of the students and university fraternity.
Ms. Limaye is a Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary and a CISA qualified professional with over a decade of rich experience in Risk Management , SOX compliance , internal controls and internal audit. She has worked extensively with stakeholders from various business functions in organizations such as WNS Global Services, United Airlines, Symantec and Evolent Health.. Ms. Limaye has in-depth knowledge of the financial industry and how businesses in this sector govern themselves.
The webinar commenced with the welcoming of guests and dignitaries, and presented the profile of the speaker to the audience. Ms. Limaye started the talk with the meaning and importance of Internal Audit and its evolution thus far. She then further went on to explain the hierarchy of the internal audit department in an organization.
Furthermore, Ms. Limaye, also discussed the risk management and internal control system along with its types. She also shared some real life examples and her personal experience in the field. Ms. Limaye ended the webinar by discussing the optimal career opportunities in the Internal Audit and different certifications for the same.
Dean SFC, Dr Salim Shamsher, Deans of other schools, large number of faculty members of SFC and various other schools, students from all 5 programs of the school, and many external faculty members participated in the webinar. The session was throughout interactive and many questions were put by students as well as faculty members.
At the end a vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Arvind Sinha on behalf of SFC to the speaker, dignitaries, students and faculty members for cooperation extended in making it a successful event. The event would not have been successful without the sincere effort put in by the Co-curricular team volunteers in organizing the event.
