National webinar on “School Academic Excellence and Leadership: Challenges & Opportunities” Organized by School of Education Galgotias University
Third Day Report of a Three-Day National Webinar organised by School of Education, Galgotias University on &ldquoSchool Academic Excellence and Leadership:Challenges & Opportunities&rdquo on 14 June, 2020
During the ongoing quarantine period because of the outbreak of Novel Covid-19 virus, School of Education, Galgotias University conducted the successful 3rd and last day of National Webinar on 14th June, 2020. The theme of the National Webinar was &ldquoSchool Academic Excellence and Leadership: Challenges & Opportunities". The Summit was live streamed on various online platforms such as Zoom, Facebook and YouTube, Galgotias University Official Facebook Page etc. from 11 am to 3 pm.
14 June 2020, last day of the webinar organized by The School of Education, Galgotias University comprised ofthree informative sessions followed by the Valedictory session.
SESSION-1
Speaker: Mr. Rajesh Kumar Srivastav, Director Academics, Vedas International School, Gurgaon
Topic: Understanding Classroom management & its Implementation

Mr. Srivastav divide his presentation into two sub sessions. He emphasised on classroom management to support academic learning and socio-emotional learning. And also mentioned the components of classroom management such as classroom arrangement, time management, teaching styles, content management etc. He also quoted seven points as &ldquomake it your habit, take it as your skills&rdquo for the teachers.
SESSION-2

Speaker: Prof. Rita Chopra, Professor Kurukshetra University, Haryana
Topic: Motivation: Need of the Hour
Prof. Chopra emphasised on the importance of Motivation behind doing any work. She explained how motivation cycle works through various examples. How as teachers and parents shift the motivation from extrinsic to intrinsic for the child.
She also stressed on Maslow&rsquos hierarchy of seven needs and teacher motivational function, through examples of classroom and parenting scenario. Concluded her presentation with the quote &ldquotime is a great teacher&rdquo. And teacher should be always having receptive approach and honest to their profession.
SESSION-3
Speaker: Ms. Nandita Nag, Managing Director, Agragati Education Foundation
Topic: School Excellence

Ms. Nag emphasised that school excellence necessarily has to do with the quality. The quality of head and heart of all stakeholder of the school is what lead to school excellence.
She also stressed upon the pillar of excellence, ethos and the key areas of school eco system with various relevant examples from across the world.
She concluded her presentation with, how school excellence along with the school reputation can works wonder for school branding.
All the three technical sessions were followed by question answer session. Many attendees sent in their questions regarding to that specific session and it was addressed effectively by the Resource person. The welcome notes and vote of thanks to the speakers given by Ms. Navita Malik, Assistant Professor, SOE, Galgotias University.
The third and last day of webinar ended with the Valedictory. The eminent guests were warmly welcomed by Dr, Satyender Gupta, Dean SOE, Galgotias University. Followed by the glimpses of all three days webinar sessions by Mr. Ashish Sharma, Research Scholar, SOE, Galgotias University.
Dr. Preeti Bajaj, VC, Galgotias University, welcomed our Chief guest Prof. Manoj Dixit to address theValedictory session. Dr. Bajaj praised SOE, Galgotias on successfully completing the three days webinar with more than 4000 participants.
VALEDICTORY SESSION
Chief Guest: Prof. Manoj Dixit, VC, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University Ayodhya, UP

Prof. Dixit started his speech with, how leadership quality, followers and situation together make a leader successful. He also emphasised on creating leader rather than becoming a leader. He also stressed that institution must not run behind ranking and should focus on liberate education.
He also mentioned the challenges of organising webinar and praise SOE, Galgotias University for organising the webinar on such a relevant topic.
The session concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Shri Kant Dwivedi, Associate Professor SOE, Galgotias University.
Second Day Report
13 June, 2020 Second day of the National webinar, organized by the School of Education, Galgotias University, commenced with multiple informative sessions. On second day legends of the education addressed the webinar. The eminent resource person Prof. Rohit Dhankar, Professor of Philosophy of Education, Azim Premji University, Bangalore led the morning technical session on the topic - "Need of Rational Autonomy in the Contemporary World". The knowledgeable session gave an insight into the real idea of freedom. This was the third technical session of the webinar.
The fourth technical session hearing was by Prof. D. N. Sansawal, Professor of Education and Research Expert on the topic "Monitoring for the Progress and Performance of Students". With an in depth innovative meaning of 'MONITORING', an arduous process was made simpler with the exposure and thought provoking examples.
Mr. Ajay Kumar, Head Academics, Dewan Group of Institutions, Meerut further proceeded the fifth technical session, in the afternoon session, on a crucial topic, &ldquoSchools should Encourage Students to Commit Mistakes&rdquo. An eye opening plenary provided a deeper understanding of the benefits of failure and reasons children should be allowed to do mistakes.
All the sessions reached up to its expectations making the participants enlightened.
