Galgotias University has set up a high tone of using the lock down period for up-skilling and finding innovative solutions. A virtual summit on Artificial Intelligence Solutions to Covid-19 was organized by University&rsquos Center of Excellence for AIML on 9th May 2020. The summit witnessed industry experts, researchers, eminent scholars and stalwarts from various disciplines joining across the world to share their expertise in using Artificial Intelligence in battle against Covid-19.

The summit opened with a grand inaugural function in the auspicious presence of Dr.Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman-AICTE, Dr.(Mrs) Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General -Association of Indian Universities, Hon.Shri.Sunil Galgotia, Chancellor of Galgotias University, Hon. Dr.Preeti Bajaj, Vice Chancellor and Hon. Shri.Dhruv Galgotia, CEO of Galgotias University.

Dr.Anil Sahasrabudhe spoke about the use of technology and Artificial Intelligence in this trying times, upholding the human values, ethics, integrity of university education and paradigm shifts in the Post Covid-19 world. Dr.(Mrs) Pankaj Mittal appreciated the university for organizing this summit and briefly explained the role of universities in tackling such pandemics at large. Shri.Sunil Galgotia appraised all about the great initiatives taken by AICTE in adapting the technology and ICT tools and enlightened the audience with his words of wisdom.
Mr.Dhruv Galgotia spoke about the vision of university in adapting to modern technology and exploring every opportunity of interacting with experts through this summit. Dr.Preeti Bajaj welcomed all with her encouraging words and explored the university&rsquos initiatives in multi-disciplinary research & training on AIML. She also shared some memories of closely working with Dr.Sahasrabudhe and applauded his contribution in Engineering Education.
Distinguished dignitaries and subject experts from renowned organization across the world conducted insightful sessions on various aspects of Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Abhinav Deshpande from National Cancer Institute, Nagpur discussed the Practical difficulties due to Covid-19 from medical perspective and also elaborated the scope for Artificial Intelligence in this scenario. Dr.Satish Raghavendra of Cognizant Digital Operations, Hyderabad had a detailed presentation on a topic of predicting rare event through artificial intelligence.

Dr.Vallabha Devi form Tiger Analytics, Chennai spoke about the significance of data science in medical world and explained the importance of it in combating Covid-19. Dr. Sheela Siddappa form Robert Bosch Engineering & Business Solutions, Bangalore had a presentation on new look at AI based business use cases.

Mr.T.S.Kumar from L&T Smart World & Communication, Hyderabad had extensive discussion on Role of AI in monitoring and controlling Covid-19 in public domain. Mr.Sunil Patel of Nvidia Graphics explained the need of Accelerating AI for Covid-19 application.

Mr.John Patrick Shaw and Ms.Jeevantika from CIO Primeline, Ireland spoke has very interactive session to discuss Quantum Computing in Medicine.

Mr.Anil Andre, Sr.Vice of Tecnology Delivery, Vincy&rsquos New York had a thought provoking conversation on an interesting topic of Artificial Intelligence for all. Mr. Amit Kumar of BioAxis DNA Research Center, Hyderabad had a technical presentation on Vaccine Screening to Development against Covid-19.

The Summit was concluded with a cheerful session by YES Bank AI Head Mr.Utpal Chakraborty. He was generous enough to share the role of AI in transforming Banking and Finance Sector and its usefulness in present situation.

The daylong summit was attended by hundreds of participants from across the world through live session on multiple ICT platforms. Prof.Sofia Pillai, In-charge of GU Center for AIML acknowledged all eminent personalities for sharing their valuable thoughts and delighting the audience at large.
