Galgotias University International Research and Collaboration Cell had organized an International Symposium on Impact of Covid-19 on Geopolitics and International Relations on 22.05.20.
The inaugural function was graced by eminent personalities and distinguished dignitaries from various reputed organization. The event started with welcome note by Vice Chancellor Dr.Preeti Bajaj. She explained the objectives of the symposium and engaging the teaching faculty, research fraternity and student community in learning and relearning. She spoke about the
innovative measure initiated by Galgotias University to tackle this extraordinary situation of Covid-19 pandemic. She put forward the message of adopting technology by all and extended a warm welcome to all speakers and participants.
Chief Guest of the inaugural function Dr.S Suleman, General Manager of Overseas Education Services at EdCIL India Ltd began his speech with accolades to Galgotias University administration for welcoming international students. He presented his optimistic view on improving the relationship with neighboring countries and also with USA. He profoundly found that there lie opportunities of mass manufacturing of medicines and other product post covid-19. The first resource person Dr. Sheetal Sharma, Associate Professor from prestigious Jawahralal Nehru University, Delhi was second speaker to explore the symposium topic. She explored the international status of politics and social relationships fro last hundred years. She explained the
ill effects of dominating roles played by various stake holders and unequal distribution of powers. She quoted the historical events and how China is now the center point of all talks about responsibility of Covid-19.She also explored the urgency of controlling the pandemic and measure to be followed till the invention of vaccine. She concluded that the global order would
remain unchanged even post corona world.
The keynote speaker for the session was Dr.Bhaskr Jyoti, Sub Registrat cum Marriage Officer, Govt. of Bihar. He spoke with authority on international politics and contemporary geopolitics. He shared his experience and elaborated the issues related to new global world order with respect to demographic dividend India has. He also cautioned to work on properly to harness these
advantages in making India strong. Mr.Dhananjay Tripathi, Asst.Professor at South Asian University, New Delhi. He spoke about the borderland issues in context with Covid-19 pandemic. He commented on the role for India in global politics and especially in multi-polar world. Dr.Rishabh Kumar, Asst.Professor at California State University explained that the inequality between rich and poor countries in decreased over a period of time. He illustrated the phenomenon called as Elephant Curve of globalization and change in real income and purchase parity from 1988 to 2008 Dr.Isha Dubey-Lund University and Dr.Vijeta Rattani,Indo-German Bilateral Agency on Climate Change were the eminent resource persons for International Summit.
