School of Hospitality 1st Webinar by Chef Parvinder Bali "EFFECTS OF COVID 19 IN OUR LIVES AND THE WAY FORWARD" on 9th May 2020, 1800 hrs.
School of Hospitality, Galgiotias University on 09th May 2020 at 1800 hours via zoom conducted the first live webinar by Chef Parvinder Bali on "EFFECTS OF COVID 19 IN OUR LIVES AND THE WAY FORWARD".
The webinar was moderated by Chef Vikas Sharma (Divisional Chair Food Production & Assistant Professor, School of Hospitality).
The webinar started with a welcome note from Dr. Preeti Bajaj mam (Vice Chancellor, Galgotias University). She welcomed the keynote speaker for the session Chef Parvinder Bali. After this Prof. Onkar Nath Mehra (Dean, School of Hospitality) addressed a welcome note to Chef Parvinder Bali, SOH faculties and all participants in the webinar.
The session started with a power point presentation of Chef Parvinder Bali on various objectives, challenges faced by the food industry, how employees are being affected, various areas to focus during this situation and how students can utilize this time more effectively during this lock down time to upgrade themselves.
Chef Parvinder Bali also emphasized on various changes that the hospitality industry and its constituents will be likely going to see and how the role of technology will play a major part post COVID 19.
After this the Q&A session started during which Dr. Preeti Bajaj mam (Vice Chancellor, Galgotias University) , Prof. Onkar Nath Mehra (Dean, School of Hospitality), Dr. Sameer Koranne (Associate Dean, School of Hospitality) SOH faculties & students asked various interesting questions which were very nicely taken up and replied by Chef Parvinder Bali.
On request from moderator Chef Vikas Sharma, Chef Bali also shared some interesting and valuable tips for students on how to prepare for career opportunities in Oberois group.
The most eye-catching moment for the session was "Beautiful flute playing by Chef Parvinder Bali" for all the participants to make the moment light, enjoyable and memorable.
In the end Dean School of Hospitality motivated students with his words. He told students not to panic in this situation and prepare for the future challenges. After this he addressed a vote of thanks to ChefParvinder Bali for his precious time and sharing such valuable inputs & thoughts with all.
