Dr. Lalit Pratap Chandravanshi, Head, department of Forensic Science (SBAS) organized a one days long educational visit to AIIMS, New Delhi on 24th of February 2020 for M.Sc. IInd Sem (Forensic Science) students. Visit was organized as per Galgotias university guidelines and recommendations regarding syllabus of M.Sc. IInd Sem (Forensic Science). Visit was organized with the prior permission and guidance of honourable VC mam, by the initiative and hard efforts of Prof. AK Jain, Dean SBAS. Dr Rajeev Kumar, Associate Prof. and Dr Priyanaka , Assistant Prof. guide the students during visit.
Students were visited the DNA fingerprinting facility and Instrumental facility of the Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, AIIMS, New Delhi. Dr A K Jaiswal, Chemist, Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, AIIMS was guided the students, how to utilized the analytical approaches in legal cases. Students were seen the live demonstration of postmortem examination. This visit was beneficial for students for better understanding of the subject & practical approaches like the procedure of post mortem examination and preservation of viscera.
By this visits to the autopsy centre students are learned in the concepts of conducting autopsies in various causes of deaths and autopsy report writing and further being helpful for law by being a witness to testify those reports in the court of law. Ethical training of the students include their understanding the concepts of medical negligence and the legal actions available enabling them to be more responsible in their practice in the society.
